From what I understand they have a guy come to games as the emergency back up and he can play for either team if needed. They usually have some kind of playing experience, I think this guy played NCAA hockey and regularly plays in a rec league. Pretty dope though cuz he gets free tickets and is at every Blackhawks game. I know the Leafs at one point had the goalie from the Ryerson University (school in downtown Toronto) hockey team as theirs.

Each team carries two goalies, so these guys are there in case neither of the two can play. Basically third string.

It’s similar in a lot of sports where there is one specialised position. Soccer teams will usually have a reserve goalkeeper on their bench but if he gets injured then they have to put a regular player in goal - always good fun to watch.

Rugby is similar with front row players - if they run out of them then they have to go to uncontested scrums to avoid serious injuries.

It’s less likely in sports with small teams and huge benches (like football) but it does happen in baseball occasionally.

Lots to love about this fight. Props to Showtime for taking this fight seriously and putting their best production crew and camera team on the job. We not only saw an EXCELLENT fight but the fan reaction after the brutal KO was amazing. Fellas, please take note in your future bouts. Fights aren't about the fighters but about the fans. EXCELLENT production quality can take your fights and fan following to the next level. On to the fight.

This fight was an classic example of why listening to your trainer in training camp is so crucial. The fighter in black didn't go over the scouting report with his trainer going into the fight. Everyone knows the fighter in gray has Devastating power in his right hand and an EXCELLENT stand up game due to his amateur boxing background. Everyone also knows the fighter in gray has been working on his takedown defense. The fighter in Black's trainer told him he needed to finish the fighter in gray with a reverse chokehold early in the fight. Fighter in Black didn't do what he was told and got destroyed. Props to the fighter in gray for getting out of the chokehold and using his superior footwork to unload the overhand right. With that said, I really wanted Max Kellerman to interview the fan with the beard after the fight. He seemed shocked about the outcome and I would like to know where he thought things went wrong.

You don't need Kellerman to interview the bearded gentleman to get his insight as to where the bout went wrong, frankly the bout went wrong when the pugilist in the black fell, on his right arm. Even if the pugilist in black were to get up after being a victim to the pugilist in gray overhand right strike, the pugilist in black still landed on his own arm perhaps causing an unseen injury.
