Honestly no matter how frustrated you feel right now, at least you have parents that love you enough to put a roof over your head. If you're just home for the summer, respect their rules for the next 2 months and go back to college in the fall and do your own thing. Will not drinking a beer in the house for 2 months kill you? At the end of the day, it's their house and their rules. I guarantee you you're gonna regret every bad thing you've said about your parents once their gone so just appreciate what you have now and stop being so dramatic

They give you so much culture and also an insight to the outside world and what its like out there considering that Americans are the most blind to the amount of different cultures out there.
My moms Jamaican and my dad Guyanese
Not to mention some colleges look more favorable on more "diversified' people, more power to us!
Just saying man, I'm 17 and I already see the value of foreign parents, I don't know how old you are but in our case wake up and smell the roti!

like i said before i am thankful, i value my parents to the extent that i know there are people with no parents, with parents who dont give a +%%$ about them, with parents who leave their child to basically grow up without any assistance from an older role model. I'm just trying to make my folks see the light and just understand that things are a lot different for me then when they were my age.
As for maturity.. I am respectful to them. But sometimes it can be irritating when they will never admit they are wrong about something. Very Irrational. As for myself, i work, i clean, i go to school, I assist them whenever they need help.
