its up to you if that situation changes or not, got to put your foot down, people adapt and if your really wanted changes it'll happen.
I know someone in the same situation, its very sad. If you dont stand up for something you want it will affect you in how you go about things.
As long as you give common courtesy, respectful, take care of your own you shouldn't feel guilty because your parents are strict.
Never was in the situation due to the fact that I never really gave in.

OP i feel you. These NT'ers think its easy to just say "O it could be worse" , but its not like you've said anything outrageous. You want more freedom while home from college. Fair enough. I have no advice for you.

I feel where you are coming from OP.
my folks don't trust the government
neither went to college and wouldn't let me use financial aid when I started college they attempted to pay out of pocket, fail.
after several semesters in and out of school for me they are hip to how everything works. now i get aid and got loans and #@!.
but would have been graduated if it wasn't for their ignorance. it is what it is, love mom and pops regardless.
as far as being grown and the bs rules, move out bro. thats what i did, its hard but its
my folks don't trust the government

I hope i can move out soon, they keep suggesting me to help them with the bills for the new house we just moved into after I get my career started... but i just want my own freedom. no way im helping them pay if I dont get things my way.
