FX' Fargo Sunday 10PM ET : Season 4 Episode 8 "The Nadir" Starring Chris Rock 11/08/20

I just realized who the mustache lawyer is with the older Stussy brother. It was irking me and I couldn't place it. Our milk loving friend Rothstein.

And what the hell I just found out that Ewan McGregor is playing both brothers,. I didn't even know they were twins :smh:

so i have this straight

the old man who got strangled is carrie **** stepfather and her mother died

her husband is gay and living w his bf

the little boys father is the gay guy

the stepfather didnt approve of his step(?) son in law being gay?

so now she sent the boy to be w his dad?

@SinnerPyou are definitely on to something with Her and electronics, 100%

There's always some weird supernatural thing to each season, you've just unlocked this seasons Element.
I hope they go somewhere with that and that it's not some running gag throughout the season.  I hope they address the reason.

Another slow episode that led to nothing advancing :rolleyes :smh: by far the SLOWEST season so far.

Yeah this so wasn't well paced and lacked the humor and exciting moments it tends to have let ep.

Felt like a side story separate from the main plot. In one sense I get why it had to be told but the idea of a side story feels like it should've came later in the season.

Watching now, already I'm kind of thrown off how they've decided to set up the opening scene, which turned out to be about the Boy who wrote the book she was reading.

Maybe it proves itself but, seem so odd, get us back to the real characters and what they've been doing, not this...*sighs

Edit: okay that setup made sense

I get her following the path of her investigation in her step father's death.. but we know it's a mere coincidence

I guess maybe this just makes her realize her step father wasn't really supposed to be the target and that was the path she had to go down for it

Going assume the name on the toilet relates back to the brothers dad

I thought she was staying at the same hotel as dude. And that's where dude got the name from while he was puking in the toilet and changed it when he fled the scene and moved to a different state and changed his identity.

^ Yep, that's exactly it.  She even said that she looked for that exact motel from the photo... and it just so happened, they never renovated the joint... hence the same toilet name.  He moves to Minn., starts a new life under Stussy and so on.

It was a slow, but interesting episode.  Not sure about the meaning behind the animated bits, but I'm sure there's more to it.

And what's the deal with that odd box?

I guess they wanted to dedicate one episode to the old man's backstory.   And I guess he's not related to those Germans in the pilot.

Also, I'm not on Facebook too!

I got that but I find it hard to believe they kept the same toilet from 1975,

What was the deal with that freaky *** box? This was a slow episode but I don't see the importance of anything that was revealed. Seemed unnecessary.

The switch was the same as the switch shown in the boy robots head before he shut himself down because "I can help!"

"I can help" doesn't hold as well as "I am groot".

i enjoyed this episode. i can understand why people didn't enjoy it because the pacing of this season seems more like reading a book than watching a movie.

I think the Opening in the pilot is just setting up the concept of mistaken identity based on similar names, and its consequences (which parallels the death of the grandfather).

I actually really liked this episode. The story to it was better than anything thats happened the season so far lol. The robots eyes looked so sad by the end after all it had seen & been thru :frown:

The robot story she was reading somewhat told her story at that point as well a bit

dudes become amateur directors quick when they dont like an ep

im guilty of it too

i can help

its only the third ep of the season

when the season is over maybe this ep will make more sense in the grand scheme

i didnt understand how they were supposed to be making his movie but he ended up paying for everything

was the old guy a porno director/producer or something?

brb goin to arbys

I enjoyed the episode

I can't help but think that there are going to be some parallels between Zimmerman/Vivian and Ray/Nikki

Also...

The Ray Wise character... the "6th flight in one week" guy...  we've seen the actor in a lot of other shows before... for sure, they didn't bring him into this episode for a small cameo like that.  We're probably gonna see more of him in future episodes.

And did I hear that right?  Arby's?  Roast beef Arby's?

  Is their Arby's different?

They seemed so excited about going there.

 "maybe we'll get the Milkshake..."

It's Eden Valley Minnesota. They probably don't have an Applebee's just yet.

why did they switch off the robot tho?

i mean if it had been recording all that time, its not like the universe ended they day they got it

or did they think they were the pinnacle of existence never to be overtaken?

or did they just not want the robot recording them too?

i took his "i can help"s to mean that he could help improve society or something or that they werent "complete"

Good spot on the OG Arby's reference.  Forgot about that!  Seemed like they were always eating in the movie.
