Going to France in Jan

Just avoid Nice. That place was overrated IMO.

There are better smaller towns.

I’ve only been to Paris which I thought was dirty, but was during the winter. Had we gone during summer, I think it’d be a different experience.

Not going to lie, we went around on a tour bus and when you drive around and see the Eiffel Tower peak up its spectacular, then you see it in person and it’s truly truly amazing.

We ended up in the main train station coming in from London and people were just eyeing us up lol, had to keep all your belongings in front of you. Wallets in the inside pockets of your jacket and phones out only when needed (in the train station).

Overall, I’d like to go back and experience the other cities in France, the less touristy the better.

Just like any other country you visit, regardless of your race, religion etc. Respect the culture. If you do this and they’re still disrespectful, it ain’t your bad fam.

My favorite city in the entire world. Stayed in the African quarters near Montmarte/Sacre Couer. Me and my cousin would always come back to our AirBnB after midnight and needless to say it was sketch . Looking like fresh meat out there. Nothing happened though.

Paris Nore du Garde train station basically hunting grounds for pick pockets, thieves, and homeless so definitely be vigilant and if traveling with a buddy, cover each other’s backs.

tsamshox tsamshox , since you mentioned Sacre-Coeur, one of my pics from there (August '18):

will have to try some of these places out. I'm two weeks out until my trip.

Adding to my restaurant list. Stayed in the 15th district this go-round, so the additions are specific to that arrondissement. Little more peace and quiet being further away from the city center. Interacted with the locals more.

Les Artisans:
Ate here three times. Their brunch is stellar. Eggs benedict, croque-monsieur and this sesame bagel loaded with bacon, cheddar, poached egg and avocado. Crushed with Moscow Mules. Also had a late-night burger there that was very, very good. Satisfied my munchies. They usually open until 2 AM every night.

Le Borromee:
The decor is not fancy. Very casual environment, but the food was quality. We shared an avocado with crab appetizer. Wifey ordered tartare for her entree, I had the beef dish with potatoes. Washed down with a Cote du Marmandais I wasn't crazy about, switched up to their Chinon for my second glass. Paired better with our food.

There's a little bakery right next to Les Artisans on Rue Lecourbe that had the best croissants we had the entire trip. Tiramisu was also fantastic. Crepe was average.
