i stayed at the rio for 26 a night 2 weeks ago

Put me on these deals!

just go to harrahs.com

i just searched for a room for next wednesday, and it said a room is 45 a night. i know during the week rates are cheaper.

if you go to vegas, GO TO PLANET HOLLYWOOD. when you are there, get a player rewards card or whatever they call it. you get some good deals on things at their hotels and can check in to hotel's in an express line (harrahs, PH, rio, ceasars palace etc). the buffet at PH is amazing, however it's 45 for a plate....BUT, if you have the rewards card you can get a 24 hour pass to the buffets at all those hotels. and it's 45 dollars for the day pass, so you can eat at planet hollywood's buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 45, or go once for the same price

planning to go with a bunch of friends around July. I know it's going to be too dry and hot but that's the time when we all can go.

For MM planet Hollywood and Caesars are having deals. Open bar, all you can eat buffets, giveaways and "conveniently" located betting stations and table games. PH is $109, CP $175, Harrahs is $89

any of you guys try the $20 dollar trick in Vegas for a room upgrade?

http://thetwentydollartrick.com/

I'm going in June for a bachelor party and it looks like we can get a suite upgrade in exchange for a box of porto's hahaha. I'm curious to see if anyone has had success with the $20 dollar trick

You pretty much slip a $20 with your ID and credit card when you check in.

you should look up when the NBA Las Vegas summer league is, you'll see alot of ******* because all the NBA players will be in vegas haha and all these ******* will be looking for sponsors

Dawg. That's why I do the Thursday-Saturday trip. ZERO traffic going and coming back.

i HATE having to wake up at 6-7am to beat that 'Back to Cali' traffic. Either that or your stuck having to leave later than 7pm.

We just don't go to sleep and drive back around 7-9. Also I never drive on a big weekend.[/quote]

yea I started doing that SAT-THUR trip about 3-4 years ago. Back the southwest flights were dirt cheap (like $39-$49) on Thursdays. But I think they caught on and started raising the prices.

It works, just depends on what casino you go to and if the actual employee is "up on it". Few instances we tried it and the employee ended up being new, they had no idea what we were trying to do. Asked for a manager, problem solved. other instances, walk up and they see the dub... check availability and viola.

I recommend anyone try this at any casino. worth a shot and if they can't pull through, they'll give the dub back. and FYI, no reason to give more. $20 is known throughout the casinos as the 'tip trick'. either they have availability or they don't.

good luck.

Any suggestions on making a day trip to the Grand Canyon? How is the drive if we rent a car? I have to catch a flight at 7pm so that rules out the tour buses. Thanks.

Use valet!!!!

Not sure why people don't use valet more often... I understand if there's valuables in the car = take em out.

I've always had good experiences w/ valet. Tip em before AND after.

There's random information desks/kiosks throughout the Strip and the casinos' respective malls/shops. They can give you more details regarding Grand Canyon and other activities outside of Vegas.

Hope this helps.

That was the height of the recession. It was dirt cheap flying ANY airline to Vegas, especially on those off days. You could fly from SEATTLE to Vegas for like $60 each way lol. That's nuts. Times have changed, and people are traveling again. Hence, rates have skyrocketed.

My girlfriend and I will be there April 2-5 (Tuesday-Friday). Any particular bars or lounges that are best during the week?

Wifey and I like Cabo Wabo, which is right at the entrance of the Miracle Mile Shops right between Paris and Planet Hollywood.

prices are decent, food's pretty good. Usually have good tunes on, sometimes a DJ. not sure about weekdays though.

We like it cause it's literally right on the Strip and people watching is THEEEE best sometimes.

We touched on the $20 trick earlier in the thread...Works almost everywhere, pretty simple guys. If they can't give you an upgrade they will give you the money back.
