GOING TO VEGAS IN A WEEK VOL: Help me with my experience...

First timer heading out there with my lady on Tuesday. We'll be out there till Fri, but because we picked Vegas on short notice, we prob have about $800 to spend between both of us.

Obviously the experience would be different if I was with the homies, but I'm not complaining...anything that y'all suggest a couple would enjoy doing?

Also...Restaurants?! Would like to take the lady out somewhere nice on our very last night. Been reading up on a few places, but nothing seems to catch my eye. A good Steakhouse or Italian?

For a steakhouse, I've heard good things about Delmonico in the Venetian. Other places I recommend are Holsteins (inside the Cosmo- good burgers) and Javier's (Mexican food inside Aria). I haven't been to the Javier's out there but I have been to the location in So Cal and it's good

Did Javier's and Holstein's this past week with the wife. Great Burgers, lots of beers, and alcoholic milkshakes that the woman will like. Javier's has a great mood, and good food.

You can probably catch Mystere (Cirque du Soleil) at Treasure Island real cheap during the week. Not sure if you're military or not, but I think they get tickets for $50 or so.

Food wise, wifey and I love to explore off-strip.

There's a nice Caribbean spot off Flamingo called Bahama Breeze. Right next to a McCormick and Schmidts.

Memphis BBQ is also off-strip. Real good BBQ.

Mon Gabi in Paris, I hear, is really nice French restaurant and you can get a great view of the Bellagio fountains

This.

Every weekend during the summer cracks in Vegas and is crowded off SoCal folks alone.

MDW and LDW are too damn expensive and packed, only worth it if you have hopkups or are ballin

If you want to go on a bigger weekend, look into cinco de mayo, july 4th, or a major fight. You'll get the extra level of craziness without paying too much more.

Last year scored a great deal at Cosmo for Cinco De Mayo/Mayweather v Cotto. Had a ridiculous time

summer in general is crazy, I usually try to go during NBA Vegas summer league. I remember when I went in 2009 it was Vegas summer league and we walked into the casino Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan were at some random bar at the WYNN. They couldn't get into XS because they weren't 21 yet lol. It was funny seeing DeAndre Jordan trying to talk to the security guard like, "but our friends are in there." haha

damn couples weekend in Vegas huh, lol be careful with the water over there. I've known maybe 5 couples that had a "couples weekend" in Vegas and 9 months later ended up with a kid LOL (myself included). Boyz II Men has a residency at the Mirage hotel, that might be an option.

A few question, just how fun will EDC weekend be if you don't plan on visiting any parties/raves? How is the vegas atmosphere during that time basically?  Also how is Vegas during June on a Monday-Wednesday/Thursday?

What do you mean by parties/raves? There are no raves (unles you know of some warehouse off strip, or something). And by parties do you mean dayclubs/nightclubs? With every big name DJ in town, many will be doing gigs at the major clubs (and some appearances will be unannounced). Expect holiday weekend pricing at dayclubs and nightclubs.

As for Mondays, XS and Marquee are open and they are always fun. Two new clubs are opening by then as well that will be open one weekday out of the week for industry nights. The only places that are dead are the dayclubs.

any certain spots?

Haven't been to EDC personally but from what I've heard the pool parties >>>> night clubs because at night the big name DJs are all at EDC

Chill!

We're new parents, my son is 6 months. This trip is our first getaway since he's been born.

Not necessarily. The big name DJs stick around all weekend (or at least a couple nights). Considering they only play one night at EDC, it frees them up for nightclub gigs. Also, some DJs, if they finish early enough at EDC, will get shuttled back to the strip and spin a surprise set at like 2:30 or 3 am. It happens.

:x and i was planning on swimming too :smh:
hell nah now... frack that!

Best club to go to on Tuesday or Wednesday? Preferably hip hop or something to dance to. Can't wait for my trip next week

Yup

It was Marquee right?

Heard it was XS, but either way this dude IS NOT playing. I wonder how much BS etc etc will be there :x

It was XS. Friend of mine who's real heavy in the Vegas club scene told me about it when I brought up Hakkasan to him. I texted him, "Hey you know about this spot Hakkasan opening up at MGM?" his response, "Dude... that's like me asking you if YOU know about Jordans." I cried.

For those of you coming here with kids, the new Wet n Wild should be opening this summer.

:wow: :wow: word/??? Where exactly is it supposed to be?

Tuesday 1OAK
Lavo on Wednesday.

In case you're not familiar with Vegas clubs, 1OAK (formerly JET) is at the Mirage and Lavo is at the Palazzo.

Let me also add Chateau (Paris Hotel/Casino) and Haze (Aria). However, not sure if they'll be going down on a Tuesday/Wednesday.
