I've watched, in person, a lot of great high school basketball players who went on to D1 and NBA success throughout the years in both Minneapolis and Chicago... and Sharron Collins is probably the best high school guard I have ever seen play live...

Did you have the chance of watching Willie B in HS?
Why would you put SHerron as your #1? Did he dunk in HS like that?

I watched that "Preps" show faithfully, Will was that dude in HS. I heard rumors of another doc thats following Whitney Young's Okafor and White. Not sure how true it is tho

Unfortunately, Willie was at Crane before I moved to Chicago so I didn't have the chance to see him play there...

I would put Sherron number one because he had the complete package as far as physical dominance, skill set, and intangibles.  Physically, despite only being like 5'10", homie had an incredible combination of speed, quickness, lateral movement, leaping ability, and brute strength... physically, he was like a 5'10" LeBron James... no bull !%%+.

Skill-wise he could probably handle the ball as well as anyone I've seen in high school, could shoot long distance, mid-range, take the ball to the rack at will, post up, and had excellent court vision and passing ability.  And he could play defense... lock-down man defense, great help defender, ball hawk, turned steals into transition buckets, etc.

What really separated him to me though was his ability to dictate the flow of the game, involve his teammates, and take over when necessary... he was a total floor general.  A lot of guys have the physical tools and the skills but they don't have "it."  Sherron was 10 out of 10 for intangibles in my mind.

Sherron wasn't a huge dunker in high school.  He finished with lay-ups a lot but he could definitely climb the ladder and abuse the rim when he wanted to.  I remember he threw the ball to himself off the glass and dunked hard with his left hand in the McDonald's All-American game his senior year...
