Taking a trip to Hong Kong in may and thinking about using a hostel.  Anybody have experience with using one or should I just use a hotel?

Stayed in hostels throughout Europe.  They are much cheaper especially if you are below the max age (~25).  Saved myself a ton of cash.  If ur goin alone it's a good way to meet people.  But it's cramped, depending on the size of room you stay in.  The larger rooms I stayed in had like 12 other people, and basically a ton of bunk-beds throughout the room.  So there's no privacy and if someone snores at night and you can't sleep? Tough.  Plus, you usually all hafta share a bathroom

But for me it was worth it considering how much money I saved (easily over a few thousand), and if you're lucky you may be roomed up with some nice lookin girls who need travel companions.  Swedish Hostels
