How long until the riots start?

People will only revolt when they truly cannot eat. So far, I have yet to hear someone die of starvation in America. Also, the possibility of success is still present for the majority of people (or so it seems).

I definitely see what everybody is saying as far as your average Joe and Jane America being too bread and circus'd up to effect change in the current state of things, but look what's happening here now.

We're a few show tanks away from a police state, the Constitution is a historical artifact, prices are going nowhere but up, jobs are down (in practice if not number theory), businesses run the country, everybody is in debt, healthcare is an argument, layoffs AND corporate profits are at all-time highs (wut), they sell poison on TV and call it cures, the rent is too damn high, blah blah blah. **** is ****** up for your average citizen, and eventually they have to start feeling the pinch.

I mean, this state of affairs can't just be cool forever...right?

Repped.

If you watch the Confederations Cup (soccer tournament) they showed the riots in the streets. They said some 300,000 people were in the streets protesting and getting tear gasses by the police force.

I can't put it any better then you did. They want to keep us at this middle ground forever though. They don't want us to get too down because they know something could happen. They want us to be in debt to our eye-balls....but not over our heads...they want us to barely get by....but still get by...they have to keep that glimmer of hope out there...so people keep striving for it instead of trying to change things.

Protect Neymar at all costs.
haha

wouldnt the economy have sort of a boost by now considering the World Cup Next year, have there not been increased job opps? tourism sales im sure are through the roof. if not temporary economical relief will be there next year. at least pass a law taxing prostitution now cause you know they will be killing next summer

Like many nters have already said. Nothing will happen in America until the quality of life for the average American becomes significantly worse.

Also to the dude who wanted to blame the poor for their own circumstances. You dont know what makes poor people poor so everything you say is speculation colored by your own bias.

the government keeps the poor, poor.

communist aspects

The funny thing is Americans way of life has become significantly worse. There's a bunch of studies that shown this, but propaganda works and keeps the "free" masses ignorant.

Sadly I don't see anything happening until we have nothing left to lose. And until we see past racial, economic, political, sexual, and educational division.

So it could be a while. But that was the game plan. Divide and conquer. They been won.

when people are no longer distracted by their iphones, computers, televisions and stash of pornography.
Very true, but eventually less people will be able to afford that type of stuff with the price of necessities rising and the gradual formation of a permanent underclass. Will that be what it takes?

That's what I'm saying. I get that people tend to romanticize the past, but in my 25 years things seem to have changed for the worse overall, and quickly at that. I don't see where it's that hard to see.

Oh yeah, a major financial collapse is predicted in the next two years and we will supposedly lose superpower status as a country.

So I'm gonna change my answer to when that happens.

In relation to people being obsessed with technology and not seeing the big picture, I advise looking into Ray Bradbury's stories- Harrison Bergeron, The Pedestrian, and Fahrenheit 451.

Some of the stuff in these stories really reflects our society.

so NT world cup summit 2014 brazil is a bad idea?

Sounds all bad bro... It's official I'm out on WC :smh::smh:

I really truly thought I was gunna do it but after getting flight rates. Hearing the horror stories about water and food. The air pollution. Potential to get murked. I'd never allow my girl to go for sure.

:x

ya'll sound like a buncha *******.

"oh look at americans, americans don't wanna do this, they don't wanna do that"

The **** are you doing?

the machine has been calling for anarchy for several years here in the US.. OWS was the first attempt to get us riled up.

i think the trayvon martin hearing will be the real test of this nation

Nope. Because Americans for the most part remain ignorant of pressing issues as such.

Americans believe in a form of patriotism which is like the blind leading the blind.

Just look at where most people's interest rest in this country.

A nation of reality TV watchers.

The powers that be would rather keep the 85% of the masses ignorant and stuck in the dark.

So to answer your question OP, I really doubt it.
