How Masculinity is taught (documentary)

After watching that trailer I think thats exactly what they're going for

Wouldn’t be surprised. Don’t wanna speak prematurely for this doc, but in general it’s unfortunate they’re taking real issues and manipulating them to address certain agendas all the while not actually getting to the core of the issue.

your upshot is @ da 1:27 mark.

"they're buying into a culture that doesn't respect what we feminized" >D

So, without masculinity or hard working males, how will we ever have stable infrastructure?

Like roadways, bridges, engineering, etc. Labor intensive jobs still require some form of masculinity.

These people don’t realize without it, we’d be doomed.

Huh?

Labor intensive jobs require strength. Not posturing constantly to seem tough.

And if you want to use infrastructure to judge masculinity, just remember, America's infrastructure is in shambles.

Oh, you meant pretty wealthy white woman. The comma between pretty and wealthy was a typo.... Right?

she co-founded a group that's mission is to "end gender stereotypes"

Isnt there already a documentary on this topic on Netflix? Hold on lemme find it...

EDIT: Its the exact one in OP :lol Thought this was a new one lol

That’s my point and B) I never said it requires posturing or fake machismo, just do labor intensive jobs. It’s a MINDSET.

People are to enabled and spoiled nowadays. And, the infrastructure is in shambles do to greed, and lack of care. At some point, these jobs will have to be done.

Tons of work in this world still require a masculine approach. We can agree to disagree.

you're equating physical strength with masculinity, it's not an attack on physical strength

Isnt there a direct correlation between these tho?
the point is the two aren't interchangeable. Yes the are jobs that require a physical element many women wouldn't be able to meet
but the concept of performative masculinity and how it affects social interactions and behavior is the topic here not building things

If you don’t think there’s a direct correlation between the two, then you’re mistaken...

never said there wasn't, I said they aren't interchangeable as you seemed to imply in your original comment

And it seems like what theyre trying to push in this sense is that its okay to feel sorry for yourself and that its not your fault its society's for putting pressure on you to be masculine. Just look at all the phrases they try to portray negatively at the begining of the trailer. Man Up means push through when things get hard instead of crying and feeling sorry for yourself
