Exactly.  Had a good run earlier this month - up a little over 1k - then lost 200 of that slowly over the weekend.  Probably won't be back for a little bit, lol.

I gotta chill

Casinos love chumps like me...which is why I don't even get started gambling anymore or do so in very little moderation with people to remind me to keep it moving.  I am competitive, hate losing, and have a tought time taking a loss....which all equates to betting massive amounts of money strictly for the sake of pride and not knowing when to walk away.

Not even worth it...

This would #%@%*%$ KILL me... Its not the monetary aspect but the fact that I would replay the game in my head constantly thinking about missed free throws and lay ups

Man I know how you feel op. couple weeks ago I was hot. Won a couple hundred off casino war then played some hold em and left that night with $300. Went back two days later same routine left with $1000. Went back the next week and was up $2500 on war and lost it all. Got greedy trying to get to $5000. Had one of my worst poker days ever yesterday..lost $200 didn't even win a hand. And lately I've been on them scratchers not the $1 or $2 one but the $10 ones.

I dont see how you guys do it that live in or around cities with casinos. The closest casino to me is about 2.5 hrs away. I have been going more often now, but am always sure to budget for it. I always tell my friends who are new to it to think of it as money you have already spent. For a day trip i usually take about 500, so walking into the casino I consider it gone already. If i go home with a buck fifty, hey today I made 150 bucks.

But I will be going to Vegas for the first time next month. Really excited about that. I've only been to New Orleans, lake Charles, Biloxi, Reno, and Tahoe and I know Vegas will be years ahead of these places

I don't see how you guys would go back after losing. I must be cheap but if I even lost $100 i'd be too mad to go back

Wrong attitude to have going into a casino. You should be going in ready to win ready to double your money. Might as well not go if you already think your going to lose.

You're right and I guess I don't totally see it as a straight loss. I don't know if this is true for everyone else, but I do it for fun not really trying to "make" money at the casino. Of course I go with the intent and hopes of winning, but I guess its my way of limiting myself to using only so much money in a trip.

the power of positive thinking my man!

i get what youre saying though.  i never gamble with money i cant afford to lose, but thats different than going in with a mindset that the money is already a sunk cost.  i gamble in some shape or form almost on a daily basis... atleast 300 days out of the year, but i bet pretty low stakes with my "lunch money", and do it more for entertainment and fun than to make a living.  I do a lot of sportsbetting, and my normal bet size is $25.  If I lose a few bets, then I will pack a lunch when I go to the office as opposed to eating out (which can easily be $50-100 a week).  When I go to Vegas, I also play small stakes.  Usually I will bring about $1,000 up to $1,500 max for gambling.  Sure it sucks to lose $1,500 but its not going to cripple me financially.  It just means more sack lunches to work hahaha.  I dream of the day where my financial situation is stable enough to step it up and gamble like BGL or them other highrollers.

Matt that is the exact attitude you need when gambling.  The ones with delusional hopes of walking out of the Casino with $500,000 and chips spilling everywhere are the ones Casinos milk for their last dollar.  I am not saying go in there expecting to lose, just set aside an amount you are ok with losing and will not regret.

i know how you feel...I was up 20k two weeks ago gave it all back and some more. Last week I was up 8k gave it all back and 5k of my own. This week currently up 6k hopefully I can have a positive week

Bacc?  at least your comps must be insane

yep bacc...I get basically everything comped, but never really use any of it besides food and cigs since I live 30 minutes from my local casino.  Sometimes I'll ask for a limo ride if I feel like tipping the driver

...Vegas has been throwing me really good offers, but I'm scared to even go because I've been getting murdered out there.

I just got a suite comped at the Venetian with $150 match play. That didn't last and i ended up spending/losing more than that. They just re-sent me the same offer for this month and i don't want to use it. Blackjack has been brutal to me lately. I'll probably wait til January to gamble anything. It's getting harder and harder to win in Vegas with all the rule changes and payout adjustments.
