Independence Day 4th of July in NYC...any input ?

anyone here ever been to see the fireworks in the city ?
I've never been to see the fireworks in the city even though I've lived here my whole life...

planning to take my girl so what are some things to do and what spots do I go to ?

Go to the macy's website and see where you can view the fireworks... there are spots in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.

Get there EARLY. I cannot stress this enough. I went last year for the first time (even though i've lived here all my life) and %*%! was wack because Ithought I could cheat by coming in like an hour early. When I say get there early, i'm talking at LEAST 3 hours in advance.

It was overrated to me, but maybe that was because of me timing it wrong. I won't be going again this year

The fireworks display will be on the west side of Manhattan/Hudson River this year. You ain't seeing jack on the East River
