IDK how truly "done" he is but while he has been effective with the PT he's been getting, the 24 minute limit is hampering the team.
And with this being his contract year, Adelman is almost hancuffed. In a way what the team went through with T-Mac last year. And as of now the Rockets don't have the players to overcome his weaknesses when he's in the game.
It's tough for both sides.

When there are NBA teams currently starting Darko Milicic at center you realize Yao is not even close to being done.

How is he done? He's coming back from a serious injury and has his minutes capped. He's still managed to be serviceable.

He's done being one of the best Centers in the League, that designation goes to Dwight, Bogut, and Lopez currently.
Done being a legit starting Center? Definitely not.
He's going to be limited probably the rest of his career, it is what it is, but he's still ultra-talented.
