Not true.
It has to do with the color blocking of the shoe, and for me, I don't care for the 20 inspired strap on the laces.

Maybe an all black pair would look nice?

Definitely. I personally don't like the color transitioning, especially from the elephant print to the gray area near the toe, but I'm sure if it came out in an all black or all white pair, people would like these better.
