One of the funniest things in this thread is Hubert posting pics from the gym, in a thread that has nothing to do with fitness. Yet in the fitness thread he calls those who post pics/vids "egomaniacs".

   hilarious
That’s just his daddy style

If i got your analogy correct, my response is

If you know the owners of the house enjoy the smell why would you expect them to clean it up.

We either build a new house or cleanup the **** in the house for our own benefit.

I don't think anybody is saying racism doesn't exist. Obviously it does. Nobody's even saying colorism doesn't exist. What people are saying is, if every time something a person doesn't agree with is brought up and immediately it's defined as colorism or racism as a way to dismiss what the other person is saying or invalidating their opinion, people will naturally start to push back and see these people are "pulling a card" when they can't attack your point and would rather attack your character. We can all acknowledge as black people that clearly everything is not fair, but what are you doing about it? What plans are in place?

Yall sounding like white people complaining about how white privilege isn't real because they grew up poor. No one's saying light skin people don't have hard lives. You're still black. But colorism is a subset of white supremacy in which people with darker skin tones are more discriminated against due to being seen as less human than lighter counterparts who are closer to the "norm", which is white people. Colorism exists in every colonized community, which in this world is every community.
Even amongst white people you can see it. Spaniards and Italians were previously discriminated against for having darker skin tones than the rest of their european counterparts.

No one's saying YOU'RE actively holding dark skin people back or automatically getting opportunities over them. That's a strawman. You're more likely to be hired. You're more likely to be paid better. These are factual things. It's ok, it's not a personal attack on you. It's a criticism of the system we all exist in. Stop feeling ******* sorry for yourself because that doesn't help you or me.

Easy to understand.

But you got folks coming in here explaining how, "That doesn't happen in MY life" as a means to discredit this reality.

It just reminds me of this time someone said in another thread that black women live harder lives than black men and NTers reacted like they'd said we're all millionaires while black women are homeless. Like, it's not a personal attack, it's just an unfortunate truth. Black women are the most educated demographic in America yet still the least paid. They have to deal with racism, sexism, and if they're darker, colorism as well. This is how intersectionality works. There are levels to discrimination, as distasteful as that sounds, but this doesn't make the whole thing a competition. It's just an acknowledgement that other people have hard **** they have to deal with that you might not. If we're all educated then we can all work together to fix these things. You are not my enemy and I am not yours. We know who the enemy really is.

Which is why skin bleaching is a thing in many of these former colonized areas. Some people are brainwashed into thinking that light skin =better. Look at the history of Haiti (while it was under French control) for example. Went back home for a few weeks and when I returned this chick told me I came back too dark and I should have stayed out of the sun. Keep in mind she's also black and a darker skin tone than me. Needless to say we don't deal anymore.

In regard to Samuels, I've noticed that his supporters, fans have not touched upon his predilection for married women. His supporters on here have also ignored that he is indeed a Black christian male, just like the other guy, of whom come from a belief system that holds women as second class citizens.

Since women are not here on this site in abundance, representing themselves, it is unfair to suggest how they feel about such an opportunist as Samuels. But I can say this for certain, since this is indeed NikeTalk, we know how how many of these supposed men really feel about women in general.

Is the OG thread available? Can any current members give their account of what happened with Ms. Hill while she was on NT? This is interesting.

Reading over these pages an old racist white person from the 1600's would be mega proud.

Operation divide and conquer is still in full effect.

Here we are proudly arguing over scraps while the real problem is at the table feasting.

Thread started out about Kevin Samuels - a black man finding success on YouTube after at least 5 years of content, and ends up on some Willie Lynch ****.

Dark Skin vs Light Skin

Black man vs Black woman

Ancient ancestors vs modern day

Flowered Jeans vs Chelsea Boots

Is it just plain old tribalism?

Crabs in a barrel who hate to see a black man succeed?

Am I giving White Superiority too much credit?
White supremacy is indeed the issue, but the approach that Samuels takes only enhances the power of white male supremacy. His take upon what is needed in order to improve, comes from the white christian bootstrap narrative, that is incredibly problematic.

Discussing the flaws in his theory is only right, and that has nothing to do with hating on a Black man trying to succeed. If he were doing something different like, holding honest discussions that allowed people to express themselves, their fears, in order for them to see what may be holding themselves back? Then it would be honest, and worthy. But since he comes off as the authority, referencing the bootstrap narrative time and time again?

It's nothing new. We don't need to hear what has already been heard, knowing that it does not work.

This is what they do not want you know. They DO NOT want women on here. For Hill to be a Black woman at that? These little racist and sexist pricks on here weren't having it.

FWIW:

Went to Hampton University.

On the Yard talking in a group (half male / half female).

One of the young ladies sees a darker skinned brother walk past and makes a comment.

Her friend says: "I like my men light, bright, and close to white."

This is an HBCU.

An HBCU that at one time engaged in "paper bag tests"... and later less obvious but much more dubious methods of prejudice / discrimination that continue to this day.

Colorism is defined as:

"prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically among people of the same ethnic or racial group."

While I agree that young lady had every right to like what she liked, I in turn have every right to dislike her based on what she said.

A letter from 1928:

article.jpg

As my parents would say: "I don't want anyone who doesn't want me."

My cousin was a que at Hampton in the early 90s he claims you had to provide a pic with your application back then...he said majority of the girls on campus were pretty light skin girls

So what's your opinion of the Black women who call into the show demanding a "high value man" while claiming they shouldn't have to "settle" for 95% of the Black male population?

The discussion should then turn to her getting what she wants, on her own. It should never go to, "Well, you are fat, and that is why you do not deserve a high value man."

The discussion should go in the direction of, so since there is not a man that can do for you what you wish, what are you willing to do, in order to attain what it is that you want? What are your skills? Is school an option? Talk to me about your social life, what can you change about yourself, in order for you to actualize your goals? Have you read Michelle Obama's book? Who are your influences?

It becomes a discussion, not a put down contest.

Yeah, I think she left cause she kept starting multiple threads about herself and cats said she was seeking attention or something like that. But pretty certain that was the case with a few of the famous people that came on NT.

Ok, so you do also acknowledge dark skin men do get this privilage as well then, that's good, because dark skin guys are also complaining they get looked over as well. However, when you see the stereotypes it's usually that the dark skin man is perceived to be masculine, and has game, meanwhile the light skin guy is looked at as being feminine, more concerned about his appearance and have advantages because he's light skin, which kind of negates them being at an advantage if they are seen as feminine. But, black people seem to take words and add their own meaning to them depending on what side of the bias they fall under.

That's why I asked what is colorist, because to you it might be different than my version.
Yeah, idk if I've experience colorism indirectly b/c I'm like a safe brown, but I've directly seen colorist jokes/insults chucked at light skin and dark counterparts for as long as can remember. Especially in serious arguments when personal insults get thrown. Mad uncomfortable tbh. One end is usually more prone to blatantly viewing the other skin type as bad thing in my personal experience though. I get where it comes, but it doesn't make it right.

They made us hate ourselves and love their wealth though. You can't achieve your macro goals if enough people aren't on board at a micro level.

Samuels and men like him, think that they can say whatever they want to Black women, in any fashion they wish. That is my problem with him, and men like him. The tough talk, bootstrap narrative does not work for the oppressed. You can't go over to a woman that has been beaten down all of her life, and then say, GET UP! DO BETTER! RAH RAH RAH! GROW A PAIR!

A person who has been abused, oppressed, cannot heal in that fashion. They need to find their own voices, not that of some jackass motivator.

Some of the things people back home have said to my lighter sister, I was in shock when she revealed one day.
People legit think she's better than them because she's light, and they think she thinks that too.
One guy broke up with his girlfriend to try and date her because according to him his girlfriend was pretty but he didn't want dark kids so my sister was a better option. They were 13.

As I remember it this is pretty much what happened
Joined, made a thread about herself saying hi to everyone
No one believed her so they made her show proof
And then she never STOPPED making threads about herself
There was some sneakers and thighs thread she made where she posted herself in team jordans or something
****** did not care

Nt'ers are always asking from proof of something. Even those who never show proof of themselves, but they want proof of everything. There are some people here that feel that they can call upon other NT'ers, to do dirty work for them as well. Help nt fam out....

But that's another story.....

Looks like khrystihill khrystihill only has 20 posts over the course of a < 1 month. Two were new threads "Legs & Sneakers" (Vol 1. and 2) and the other were replies to her threads and a few others. Interesting.
