She is about to get half.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Los Angeles Lakers All-Star guard Kobe Bryant will likely be on the hook for $75 million or more in a divorce settlement with his wife, Vanessa, because he did not have a prenuptial agreement. The couple announced that they were filing for divorce in December. 

The apparent lack of a prenuptial agreement -- coupled with 10 years of marriage -- will likely significantly increase the size of Vanessa Bryant's divorce settlement with Kobe Bryant, legal experts said.

Some estimates put Kobe Bryant's net worth at $150 million. Legal experts said Vanessa Bryant will probably receive at least $75 million in addition to ongoing spousal and child support.

The fact the marriage lasted 10 years gives Vanessa Bryant several advantages under California divorce law. After passing the 10-year mark, attorney Dmitry Gorin said, a marriage is defined as a lengthy one, which means the spouse is allowed to maintain her standard of living after the split.

The couple has two daughters, ages 8 and 5.

In a prepared statement issued to the media in December, a representative of the Bryant said: "The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a Judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012." 

According to Basketball-Reference.com, Bryant has earned more than $196 million in salary during his NBA career. Bryant is on the books for $25 million for the 2011-2012 season, tops in the NBA according to Forbes.com, and has an additional $57 million owed to him in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 combined. SI.com reports that Bryant makes at least $10 million per year in off-court endorsements.

You usually find what you're looking for and you can avoid what you don't want most times.

Hooking up usually happens when you want it to. Aren't the longer road trips in the NBA like 10 days. That's not too long without the meat curtain.

I wish what you wrote was true but people have to be realistic.  Women marry these pro athletes knowing that the risk of infidelity is high.  Some see it as a tradeoff for the millionaire lifestyle that they get.  These athletes get married because they want it all.  They want a trophy wife at home and kids while still getting more poon than they can handle.  Just look at Tiger Woods.  Dude was going raw in pornstars

You guys are looking at this all wrong. Marriages in general are doomed to fail because how they are portrayed in our culture. We see on tv/media that marriage and love is so great and wonderful and it makes us romanticize about getting married. However, when we were growing up, most of us were oblivious to the challenges of marriage and what it truly means to be with ONE person for THE REST of your life. Kobe was just one victim to the institution of marriage and the facade of how great/easy it is and consequently got married at a young age.
