Kobe makes just 8 mill more than Danilo freakin Gallinari, seems like a bargain
It's not that Kobe is a bargain; it's that Danilo is THIEVING.

Kobe could of taken a Dirk paycut and we'd still have the same team.

The issue isn't his contract, the issue is other super stars don't wanna play with him. So you can't blame him for taking the idiotic offer on the table of 48 mill. He wasn't gonna be liked whether he took 48 or 38 or 28.

It is what it is.
Once he retires lots of super stars will wanna carry the torch in LA.

That's true, guys don't want to put up with his ball dominance now that he isn't good enough to justify dominating the ball (like it's ever justified)

Am I... in the right place?

Kobe's played 119 games the last 3 seasons, Gallo has played 130. It's not even close to the amount of revenue generated by each player.

what's the hold up with the Upshaw signing?

Pelton's off-season grades:
Los Angeles Lakers

Added: Brandon Bass (FA), Anthony Brown (draft), Roy Hibbert (trade), Larry Nance Jr. (draft), D'Angelo Russell (draft), Lou Williams (FA)
Lost: Ed Davis (FA), Wayne Ellington (FA), Jordan Hill (FA), Wesley Johnson (FA), Jeremy Lin (FA)
Grade: B

After striking out with the top free agents on the market, the Lakers regrouped by preserving their flexibility at another run at free agency next summer. L.A. did sign Bass (two years, $6.1 million) and Williams (three years, $21 million) to modest long-term deals, but most of the Lakers' cap space went to acquiring Hibbert's expiring contract. Adding Hibbert means the Lakers should be more competitive this season. The more important element for their future is the development of Russell and fellow rookies Brown and Nance.
