People just don't know how to act

Looking at the behavior of religious ppl(not extremists) you don't act what you preach but I don't need a silly list of things that my common sense already tells me not to do.

It's because logic is the enemy to the faithful.  Religion asks you to forget too much or to be entirely too accepting of nonsense in the name of some god that will never show his\her face or grace.  It doesn't matter how logical or scientific you get, the faithful will always find away of pulling out some god card that miraculously nullifies anything that proves that religion is in vain.

I'm open minded as well....when there is reason to be.  No one has ever been able to give me sufficient reason to think that there is a higher being.

I don't know why you are an enemy either, Anton.  It's funny.

And exactly what would it take for you to believe?

any form of proof would work. Anything that refutes, with evidence, any of the rational, scientifically backed theories of the universe.

This. But religious people will certainly say well that's why it's called FAITH, we don't need evidence.

But you know that will NEVER happen. They don't/won't have a way to prove what they believe.

really? A lot of religions believe in some end time event.  Believe me, I am open to somebody just providing a sliver of evidence backing the existence of a higher being.  Think of that, NEVER has that happened.  Nothing suggests the existence of god, yet the nonbeliever is the minority. Something is wrong with that picture.

Why does the existence of a higher being have to necessarily refute the rational, scientifically backed theories of the universe?  Do you believe that they cannot coexist?

So what if things that were predicted start happening?

I'm sick of all of you.  But atheists versus religious people threads are always funny to read.

What do you mean by predicted? Vague darts thrown at a dartboard?

For example, a global government or one global economy?

No sorry.  There is nothing that would suggest that something like that wouldn't happen anyway.

Nothing at all? Not even the European Union collecting states? What if more unions were formed?

Keep this civilized.

Why are we arguing about religon... Religon is the last piece of slavery we need to free ourselves from... But y'all fighting over whose right and whose wrong....

Open your eyes ..... *}%# ain't no joke .

Why is it that if your not into religon, everyone labels you an athiest....

I'm anti religon but believe in a higher power . Not necessarily omnipresent but there when u need him/her...

I can't get jiggy with an ideology that promotes division within the human species....

called being agnostic son

This really isn't a discussion, no dialogue going on. Just people posting their opinions and being radical for the sake of being radical.

@Anton, even though your name may seem 'threatening' you really are more open, so I give you props for that. From what I recall you just like to follow the 'do as thou wilt' law. This is the epitome of what humans want, and in my opinion is why people do not want to hear about commandments. But like I have said, the law is meant to show how we stack up to God, and in the end to show us we can never fulfill it, and that we needed a savior.

@lobotomy, you say you are open, but you want things on your own terms, and I'd think even if God revealed himself to you and showed you the truth you would reject it anyway. Why try to put up a front about your 'openness,' it's obvious you are not. But don't mind me, I'm just one of "the faithful." (spooky music)

all religions are based on the same concept of  being kind to one another  and help your neighbor and so on. everyone just needs to be open minded.
