Let's talk The Sopranos: FINAL SCENE

Love the show but c'mon......that finale was garbage.

F all that "open to interpretation" BS. That was a {()} move by the writers. To me it was just a cop out. They were too scared to mess up the showwith a bad ending so they just didn't have one at all. No closure at all. Just horrible. They just played it safe.

I remember everybody watching the finale and thinking their cable went out when the black screen came up. The whole country was salty the next day andevery show and newspaper was talking about that fugazi black screen at the end.

Never seen the end till now. I can se how people would be all pissed but that is a real brain teaser and I am sure the writers knew what they were doing whenthey did this.

The Wire > Sopranos and you can't even really aruge against that with looking like the world's largest jack-%+!

People who didn't get the final scene never really understood what the show was about or atleast forgot what season one episode one's plot was

i tivo'ed the finale a couple months ago on a&e(haven't seen/heard the spoiler for it prior) and i damn near threw that box out the window thinking"
mad.gif
how the hell this box not gonna record the last 5-10sec. of thefinal episode?!?!"

Says someone who understands and can apperciate the time and effort David Simon and Ed Burns put into a show that plays out like a television novel

Season six was awful by the way

If you think the ending is a black and white case you are sorely underestimating the complexity of this show.

The genius of David Chase didn't show Tony actual death because he left it where a movie can still be in the works. After seeing what Sex and the City did,I think there will be a movie in the near future (maybe 8 years from now knowing David Chase

I never watched one episode of Sopranos, but after watching that clip ILL posted, wow I would've been pissed, too. All this time, I thought when peoplesaid cliffhanger, I imagined that a gun was pointed to his head, and THEN it cut to black. 'Ol girl just ran up to the diner, he looks up, and that was it.How extremely lame.

yea I think Tony died too. in an earlier episode that season, Tony and Bobby were sitting in a boat talking about what happens when you die, and Bobby was saying how he thinks everything just cuts to black when you die. and thats exactly what happened with Tony in that last scene. the screen cut to black. Tony def got popped
i think david chase (the creator of the series) said in an interview that tony did not die.

btw the finale was wack as hell.

@ these threads-

how can you say a series was better than another...its all personal preference...some might like the mob angle some the hood drug dealer angle

I love both....

You heard rumblings of a movie after the season finale, but in all honesty, wouldn't be kind of a crappy showing? Considering that just aboutall the main characters are dead or imprisoned.

Never seen an epsiode of this show

But I remember everyone was pissed on how they ended it

The only reason they had that jerkoff ending because they had to keep it open for a movie. Personally, I think TV series turned movie are ******ed, and would have appreciated a good old fashion mob hit with blood splattering all over Meadow's face.
Chase has already confirmed there is no chance for a movie. Tony was whacked, a Sopranos movie would make no sense.

The Wire > The Sopranos

Close this garbage up.

The Wire couldn't carry the Sopranos jockstrap.
