Lexus IS300

I'd @@%@ with an IS and cop an ES for mom.

I have an IS350, it was either the Lexus or a used 03-05 E46 M3. Couldn't find the right E46 in the color combo/milage/price in my range so I opted for theLex.

Differences between the 250 & 350 is the oblivious power difference 2.5 V6 204hp for the 250 and 3.5 V6 306hp for the 350. The front brakes on the 350 areconsiderably bigger. The 350 comes with standard VDIM while the 250 only comes with VSC (no option for VDIM).

Around here I see 250's all day, the same cannot be said about the 360. Like WJ4 mentioned the 250's are just bigger sellers, I read in a lexus forumonly 25-30% of the IS line sold are the 350s. Every once in a while I'll see a 350.

As for maintenance, the brake job for the 350 will cost more than the 250. Other than that I'm not sure what else would cost more in terms of standardmaintenance compared to the 250.

Anyone suggesting an ES over an IS loses all credibility. Or maybe you meant "middle aged man's car", or "car that screams 'I can't really afford a Lexus'".

Full disclosure: I drive an IS250.
first of all... "i can't really afford a lexus"... starting price for an es350 is 34K while starting price for the basic is250 is31K... is250 is for girls... is350 is where its at. please tell me you at least drive a manual is250. saying that you can't "afford" a lexus justmakes you look stupid. who bought the is250 instead of the 350 for a couple thousand more... but yeah you're right that the ES is aimed at an oldercrowd.... doesn't matter. whatever lexus you get they'll last forever

i'm not saying its not nice... it still looks nice and everything but its like comparing a 328 to the 335.. kind of

if the is300 is a girls car.. then the same should go for the 3, a4, g35, & c-class...

lol.. yall dudes got some serious insecurity issues..

The is300 interior kills the 325's IMO. Esp. the chronograph gauges...

I can honestly say, I never seen a female behind the wheel of one of these.

The usual suspect behind the wheel is young male between the age of 16-25.

no way near the e46...

I just picked one up about 3 weeks ago. Manual transmission 13k w/ 78k miles and 120k warranty.

It's stock for now, not sure what I want to do.

It's not too bad considering its a V6 engine. Having a manual ****** helps a little too. I went from pumping regular gas to premium so that kinda sucks.
