The Wood? Top 3? I thought that movie was in the realm of Love & Basketball, Brown Sugar, The Best Man, The Brothers,

I’d probably switch out New Jack for it if I had to just to add some East Coast flavor but The Wood’s flashback portions of the film is most definitely a coming of age hood movie. The present day scenes does delve it into Brown Sugar territory but “the booty was lookin’ good.”
