Like, where does one get started? At 21, I feel my time at the homestead running out. I'd like to set myself up at 23 to be able to move out with a couple childhood friends and get that experience started. Looking around for spots in NYC, Brooklyn has some nice areas with decent pricing for shared apartments, as does Manhattan. You know, those buildings with 24hr "security", workout room, deck, etc.
How much do you think I should be making minimum per 2 week paycheck to afford $750-$900 (my assumed share of apartments I like in that price range)? I feel like I'd be setting myself up for FAIL if I have a car note, but I would have mommy and daddy to help since I'm no longer home, and they'd still want to help me as much as they can (this I know, and I'd be stupid to say no).
