Finishline Woodlands(Woodlands TX)  Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever received.
I went it to return 2 pairs of the Jordan V 'Wolf Greys'. I was greeted kindly walking in, went to the cashier to return them & I was told I had to take them to the store they were purchased at(which is 1hr drive from this store) because it is company policy & they are a limited release shoe. I found that quite difficult to believe & asked the guy when I was leaving "so if I call Finishline, theyre gonna tell me I have to take them back to the store they were purchased at" he says "yup" so I walked out & called the 800 number on their website & spoke with a woman on the phone who was as stunned as I was when I asked if the sneakers needed to be returned at the same store they were purchased at.

So I go back into the store once again, I told the manager I had Finishline on the phone, went to hand him the phone & he immediately got defensive & said "noooo im not gonna do that, I wont talk on a customers cell phone" so the woman on the phone told me to get the store number from him, I was denied the number upon asking him...his response "they can get if if they need it" So she searches & calls the store, im on hold for a few min, & she gets back on the phone with me...the store manager 'lies' to the woman im speaking with & tells her theres no tag in either pair of the shoes & they've been altered...mind you these are brand new never been out of the box, touched the ground or even tried on. I told the woman on the phone thats nonsense, the shoes are brand new, ill take a photo & email them to you from inside the store. So this happens twice, where she calls the store & he tells her the tags are cut & not in the shoes. Quite shocked the manager would say this TWICE, I put my phone on speaker so the woman helping me on the phone can hear his response & went directly to the manager & asked him "why'd you lie to the woman & tell her the tags are cut?" his response "im not gonna return those shoes, I already told you that" I insisted the he(manager) open the boxes himself & look...I personally pointed out the tags in the shoes & even the size stickers on the inner soles. So once again she calls the store back, im on hold for a few more min, once she gets back on the phone with me she says ok, hes agreed to return them...as im about to hang up the manager comes out livid & tells his employees to call mall security & have me thrown out of the store for "causing a scene." I tell the woman on the phone that im being threatened to have mall security called on me so she immediately calls once more. Not once did I raise my voice, use any profane language, insult or inflict any act of violence or cause conflict in any way. After about 30-40min on the phone & in the store, they return the shoes.

I have NEVER been treated so badly as a loyal customer whos spent quite a good bit of money buying shoes from Finishline over the years. I can assure you I will never set foot in another Finishline & will make sure to tell as many people I can, never to shop there for sneakers again. I personally own over 60 pairs of sneakers & cant guess how many came from this company. I was very dissatisfied & left with a bitter taste in my mouth thinking about how the store manager himself could be such an egotistic flake. I do have to say the woman on the phone was very understanding & she did everything she could to help, she did outstanding, but my in store experience was horrible, getting lied to about store/company policy, being denied the return for a brand new product, being accused altering/ripping tags off the inside of the shoes & being threatened to have mall security escort me out of the store. Im far from the type to 'complain' but this needed to be brought to everyones attention.

Sneakerheads be aware, maybe not all stores are like this but this was not cool at all in my book, major hater move!

Sounds like they were having a slow day and he didn't wanna swallow a return on top of the low sales.

Pretty douchey if you ask me, as well.

Cold-blooded. You've got quite the amount of patience my friend, had it been me I wouldn't have wasted time with this fool, taken the L and make that drive.

i've had similar experiences (plural) returning items @ finishline.  all my items were purchased from fnl.com and brought back to the store within 30 days.  some were brought back into the store within the week that i had received them.  I've been told from the manager that he "can't" return it b/c it's been longer than 45 days....which is strange, b/c the invoice on my order says otherwise.  i've had to call customer service everytime - which is bullcrap b/c why should i have to spend close to 30 min to do a return?  especially if it's a return that is legit?

their customer service is ridonkulous!  footlocker (high volume stores) aren't much better - esp the footlocker @ southland mall (hayward, ca).

Not to thread jack but when I returned my Playoff 13s to a regular Footlocker that I bought at HOH, they told me I had to return it to the HOH. I live an hour away and I was going in that direction so I didn't make a scene but is it up to the manager's discretion on whether they will accept returns despite the return policy on the receipt?

w0w, no way I would have been able to stay calm in a situation like that..I'm pretty relaxed but to be called a liar to your face is inexcusable.

Did these sell out initially? Couldn't they just quickly put them in their inventory and re sell them?

Maybe they had returns before where the item was fake and they didn't catch it, so they were left biting the bullet. So same store returns in their eyes would keep inventory in check. As if that alone deters people from trying to return fakes or altered shoes.

I would call or give corporate a while. All these places have district managers. You already wasted 30 minutes of your time. I would waste some more and see what they say the next time you walk in there

hope he got his *!@ fired by now...never happened to me but, i wish i was there nd have a camera so i could record his *!@ to get em fired

That's weak..it wasn't your fault..

Sounded like you went to return early in the morning/ or that they were way under what they were suppose to make for the day and the manager didn't want to give up the cash back to you..

Wow, that's crazy bad customer service! Dude had some nerve making a scene about it and calling mall security.

May I ask why you were returning them? What's the deal with returning them as well? At my old store you couldn't get your money back, we'd give a credit note to be used on anything in the store.
