I wonder what made them want to replicate 94 rather than the 85?

Sometimes new molds (shapes) are made because the old ones were lost or destroyed (no one ever thought there would be a reason to keep them and retro models) and the initial techniques that were used to make Nikes, especially back in '85, have changed.

Because that would mean actually doing something all the way right, and that's not what Nike/JB are about

It took JB 21 years to release them the correct way
Shape on them is great
