Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite 2017

Nike ZoomX Invincible Run Flyknit specs:

FOR RUNNERS WHO KEEP THE DISTANCE.

Face those long runs wearing the Nike ZoomX Invincible Run Flyknit. Lightweight, responsive foam delivers maximum comfort and energy with every stride. One of our most tested shoes, this model is designed to let you feel the potential at the tips of your feet.

Details:
  • Higher, softer, wider: The foam layers gain height for more softness. The exaggeratedly wide shape in the forefoot provides a more stable stride.
  • Even More Bounce: Nike ZoomX foam is incredibly responsive and lightweight, providing more bounce with every step. The foam in the shape of a pendulum offers support designed for the 3 phases of a runner's stride. It allows great flexibility during the push, good fluidity at mid-stride and optimal cushioning during contact with the ground.
  • Evolution of Stability: An elaborate Flyknit upper features zones of breathability in strategic places. Resistant and durable, it provides optimal foot support with every step.
  • Grip Driven by Data: The waffle outsole draws on data provided by runners for targeted traction. This data influenced the design and style of the sides of the shoe.
  • A heel insert is integrated into the Flyknit for added support and stability.
  • The collar is padded for a feeling of softness and comfort.

all ZoomX no carrier in the midsole? very interesting

Just received my Tempo Next% FK in Bright Mango from Notre. Not confident I could pull off the look, but I may try.

They’re pretty tight on the top of my foot. Is that something that will loosen up a little over time? I ordered TTS, same as my Zoom Fly 3, which I love.

Isn't that the same as Alphafly or Peg Turbo?

i was actually directing that towards the talk of nike utilizing a carrier foam due to ZoomX being unstable. peg turbo has react as the carrier and correct me if i'm wrong, the CF plate in the VF/AF are used to help that stability. (not 100% sure on this so apologize if im wrong)

i guess with a wider base and more coverage on the outsole, they might have resolved the "stability" issue. either way, im still excited to try out the shoe and have been waiting for a full ZoomX shoe that can be used as a trainer

The description states "The foam layers gain height for more softness." Maybe this means there's a different foam being used as a carrier to add stability at the midfoot and heel. The ripple pattern in the foam is usually used with React, right?

enjoyg enjoyg Tempo does fit kinda snug, but I have no issue with medium-thick socks and my wide feet lol. In fact, I believe with that kind of upper and the placement of the zoom pods, it gives me enough stability since I pronate a bit. It's kinda loud in the beginning, but I hardly notice it now after running 50 miles on it so far.

S sssstan Glad I skip React Miler. I'll be patiently waiting for InvincibleX on discount lol.

H HK47 Yeah I always associate the ripple pattern as React, but that's not always the case with either Renew or Revolution.

Ripple pattern was used first with react yep but the pattern is a computational one that is done so the block of foam can have specific zones that are optimal, one area more firm, others more soft, responsive, etc.

From Nike's original press release for the Epic React:
" Computational design, which enables rapid data-driven ideation, was used to create the midsole, which is one piece of Nike React foam (with no carrier, cement or glue). This method allowed for engineering the surface of the midsole to deliver cushioning and support in the specific spots needed during a run, while eliminating material wherever it’s not absolutely necessary in order to keep weight to a minimum. The visually complex pattern varies in depth, where deeper parts indicate areas of more cushioning and shallower portions produce more firmness. "

With the Nike Renew stuff, IMO they're doing it for two reasons (1) you can give slightly more comfort out of an outdated foam tech (renew is lunar renamed) and (2) it looks in line with the newer stuff so consumers think ok this is like the epic react i'll get this

Obviously there are other factors at play here but IMO I think it's why you can get a block of ZoomX foam instead of using a carrier. That's IF it actually is all ZoomX. It might not be? I remember there a was a pic on the React post that had the ZoomX Invincible, react infinity 2 and the react miler as react shoes? So there might be react in there somehow. But the way the midsole looks it seems like ZoomX though,

Yeah that Nike pic of the 2021 React line from tc1990 ended up with people speculating that the Invincible has React in the heel and ZoomX everywhere else.

I just want to know the weight of the Invincible. If it's another brick at 9oz+, it's a loser. Again, since Nike dropped the Zoom Elite, they don't have a daily trainer that's in the 8.0oz range. This is a HUGE hole for me. The Peg went up in weight, the Zoom Fly is 8.9oz and has been getting the bulk of my mileage. I love the Streak 7, but I'd like a little more cushion on a 16 mile training run. The Elite was PERFECT for those long runs - they need to fill that category with a new shoe or bring it back with the same general characteristics.

I can't see any clear separation lines like all the other mixed foam models. If it were the clear mold line, you should they'll be able to see a separation line towards the outsole.

I'm guessing the entire exterior would be React, like how the Vomero 15 has an SR02 carrier that wraps the entire exterior of the midsole. I would think this would help with stability.

blackredxiiigoat blackredxiiigoat Well if you are looking to get it delivered by xmas, all shipping carriers are experiencing huge delay. I'm still waiting for my packaged that I ordered from 12/2. Unless if you can pick it up locally from your local FNL.

first run on the tempos and i think i like them

i wish the upper was a bit more pliable but the tightness goes away after a few min

i can feel the pods in the forefoot and a nice balance of cushion and bounce, might be placebo but it does has a spriny sensation

i could also feel the weight however in the end i did feel like my pace was on the faster side than when i run with the IR, Rincon and Novablast

so far so good

This is coming in my country Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% Ekiden Pack 2020 I think it's as beautiful as the og colors.
