NOT AS BAD AS GAMESTOP

I stopped in like 2005-06, and back then they were at least offering double digit resell amounts.

These days? *One Eyed Willie laugh*

That's pretty good

Basically. The only time I tried selling back to them as a kid, I got low-balled so I told em I would think about it, then the kid behind me in line offered me double. But hey, that was still not as bad as gamestop's price.

Ive seen some crazy #%*+ where gamestop gives buyers of new games OPENED games

saw it while my friend was trading in a game and was shocked. How are you gonna drop $60 for an opened game. Ripping the plastic off a new game is takes away at least $30 off msrp.

and the sucker kid paid the $60 for the opened game only cause it was "tha last one"

Gamestop are a bunch of con artists man

They told me they'd sell me a 4GB USED Xbox for like 180
I asked how much they'd give me if I traded one in

$30

I know people who swear by EB Games (bought and owned by GameStop/the equivalent to GameStop in Canada). It's the only place they buy anything game related from. They will never know if something is cheaper elsewhere. I remember I went in to EB to buy a new game that just released and dude pulls an unsealed/open game off the rack behind the desk and almost rings it up until I just tell him "I'm good" and leave. Wasn't going to give them the chance to still get the sale and take one that was sealed. Sad thing is, there was probably someone without a spine who bought it. That couldn't of been the first time. Who sells games and then pulls one off the shelf without any seal and doesn't notice it?

EB only gives out store credit too. And you just know you ain't buying anything in there for $8. Now you have to spend your own money on top of that store credit just so you don't waste it and "sell" your game for nothing. Future Shop up here in Canada gives cash for trade-in's and they pay more than EB, but people still decide to go there. GameStop/EB Games already have a loyal customer base who are programmed to do everything game related through them. I don't see anything changing.

All you can do really is look out for yourself and tell people you know if there is a better option like more money for trade-in's or a cheaper price on a game or hardware. Then let them decide what they want to do.

..I have a $20 exchange card, and I wanted to buy a new headset for my ps3 but they had nothing $20 or under. I wasn't about to pay $5 extra of my own money to buy a CHEAP headset that would just eventually break anyway. So after he brought out the "last one" from out the back I saw the price and told him I'm good. Only problem is now I'm stuck with a $20 exchange card and can't buy anything there with that!

yea gamestop sucks...its for soccer moms and !!%+

honestly if you still use gamestop trade-in over all the other outlets avail. you deserved to get scammed

People in NYC use webuy com They have a store on 14th street in manhattan and in queens on steinway. they always give a good chunk of money back for games way better than gamestop. I like the fat you can see how much your gonna get online before you go to the store.

People knock GameStop for their low buy back rates. Why should they be any higher? How much would you buy something that you probably already have a surplus of? Think about it. Why am I overpaying you for something you are trying to get rid of. I understand the frustration though.

$60 for a game is a joke anyway.  I can't wait for the new systems to start going more digital and game piracy picks up.  Games have 20 hours of game play and still cost $60.

sidebar: You think game stop is bad try college book stores.  Sell you a book for $150 then : WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS: NEW EDITION IS OUT.  Or it will be a college branded book that no outside vender will take.  So you are forced to try to return it to your school store.  Giving the college a complete monopoly over what books you buy.

I hate gamestop
