Im not from NY but I lived there 4 months last year and in my life have traveled to 8 different countries including the mistakenly beloved Paris. (Trust me its nothing special)
And I can say There is no world outside of Manhattan.
If I had an apartment overlooking Central Park I would feel no need to ever leave NYC. Ever.
Everything that exists in the world you can find in Manhattan.
NYC (specifically Manhattan)>>>>>>>>>>>>any city in the world.

Regarding the condo thing I agree 1000% percent. NY for me it's just like being in a WAY bigger version of Philly with better condos for the most part.

NYC is so expensive to live in that some people just can't afford to travel. 

If this is the case, they should move out - big city living aint for everyone.

Born and raised flushing queens...been living in NC for the past 7 years. It's pretty chill down here actually. Made a lot of friends 

and enjoy the big country booty 

. Forever love my city and go back every summer at least.

Yea I am in the Triad area but I went to the outer banks for the first time back in 2011...the amount of snow bunnies and PAWGS walking around 

was astounding, plus the beach was the best chill spot I have been too.
