So psyched for opening day!

Yeah man. After Pie' and Blanco and Fox and Hoffpauer and the big Asian guy and all the other young guys that have been hyped and failed, I'm actually excited about the possibilities of Castro and Colvin, among others. Could you imagine either of them being a stud, or even both ?!?!??!?! The great teams home grow their own studs, and if these young guys continue their ways, the Cubbies will be contenders for a while.

I dunno why this made me

I still can't remember his name man......I think we traded him to LA or maybe Florida...

HEE SOP CHOI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  i swear it just came to me (thats what she said)

Hee sop choi. What a giant disappointment.
His last full season in the bigs was with LA in 2005, here is a portion of his stat line:

41 RBI

.253 Avg.
.336 OBP
.453 Slug
.789 OPS
He is back in Korea now.

I caught some Baseball Tonight and of course, the guys give the Cubs no love. All of them picked either Milwaukee or St. Louis to win the div.

I'm telling you, if Sori, Soto, and Big Z bounce back, this team can be scary.

Yeah but I been waitin for Sori and Z to bounce back for years now.
smh.gif

Soto I have hope for, but I think I've seen enough outta Z and Sori to know they are what they are.  20 homers and one real torid 3 week stretch for Sori,  and 12-13 wins from Z.  That's it, that's all I can expect from them.

It's a lot like thinkin Wood and Prior will be healthy "this" year etc etc etc.

Soriano is not going to be that good this season. He had a pretty bad spring training, he has been having slow starts the past couple of seasons, I see about a 65 RBI season from him. Plus he is going to be scared of the wall all season long.
Z may get more than 13 wins but I doubt he will get 19.

It's a sad day in the NL Central thread when I'm the voice of optimism regarding the Cubs.

Come on guys.

I think the Cubs have as good a shot at it as anyone else. Meaning they could play like the Cardinals or the Pirates.... well not the Pirates.

Lineups for tomorrow.. smh at Nix starting. Anyways,

13 Brendan Ryan SS
5 Albert Pujols 1B
7 Matt Holliday LF
28 Colby Rasmus CF
47 Ryan Ludwick RF
4 Yadier Molina C
23 David Freese 3B
29 Chris Carpenter RHP

Reds

The day has finally come. Wow.

let's go Cubs. Come one Big Z, start the year off right !!

The Cubs can make the postseason if:

Z can keep his head straight and win 17 games
Soto can return to Rookie form
Sori can hit 90 RBIs
Ramirez can stay healthy
Marmol stops walking everyone

Freakin Pujols has two HR's already. Damn it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Intrigued to see Jason Heward make his MLB debut. Kid is gonna be something special.

Both pitchers in the Cubs braves game have a little bit of opening day jitters.

Are you freaking kidding me???

Well I went through all the work to find a stream of the game and then I immediately shut it off out of frustration.
