...::::Official 2010 MLB N.L. Central Thread::::...

I guess God got tired of the Cubs looking like a pee wee league team and felt sorry for them...

Which team gives their hitter his first HR a game winner?

Which team gives their pitcher his first win?

Which team gets their 3rd hitter IBB in order to face the cleanup hitter, to load up the bases with two outs?

Only the one and only: Chicago Cubs!Given the circumstance, this is probably the worst I've seen so far as a cubs fan

I can't remember watching so few games in a season......i honestly dont think I've seen more than 2 or 3 full games thus far

i'm thoroughly disappointed in both of you.

I've been watching as much as I can, but with the NBA playoffs, it's been tough.

So far I've seen the normal week long hot stretch Soriano always has, Aramis and DLee suck enough to make Jenna Jameson jealous, Carlos fat boy Silva go 8-0, Carlos Marmol destroy every batter he faces, Albert Pujols hit bomb after bomb against us when I said a billion times, don't ever pitch to the guy, even with the bases loaded, Starlin plays SS like it's so easy out there, Marlon Byrd is a damn nice surprise, Colvin looks like a solid young hitter, our bullpen minus Marmol makes me depressed, and that's about it.

In about 2 weeks I'll be in here more and get focused more.

.......well, when I'm not in the NBA offseason thread.

At least the Cards are good FB, my Cubs suck. That combined with basketball free agency, the Blackhawks, and the World Cup........very little baseball watching.

Don't get me wrong, I know whether they win or lose every game, but I just havent watched much.

In case you are living under a rock, my NHL team is playing for the Stanley Cup. Baseball is completely irrelevant to me right now. I haven't watched a basketball game since the Bulls were eliminated either. "If" we happen to win tonight, then I should be tuning into baseball later in the week. Cards/Reds fighting for the division right now according to what I have glanced over in the satndings. I don't expect it to be that way come October though.

FB isnt in stl anyway so....unless he has mlb season pass, im sure he cant watch that many games anyway.

we`re cool tho.......injury's in rotatio is the big problem...... but as long as carp, wain and jaime can stay healthy.....we`ll be in the playoffs.

The Reds pen is terrible. Hopefully we can sweep the Royals this weekend.

Damn this thread hasn't seen a reply since June 8th, you guys are slacking!! I need to start watching baseball again A.S.A.P!!

Aiight, I'm back (or at least should be)

NBA free agency may derail me here and there, but I should be able to hit this thread more often now.  I look forward to those conversations with myself like last year.

Byrd has slowed a little, Lee has shown signs of waking up, we need Aramis to get the hell back, Z looked good last couple games, Lilly was terrible on Saturday, Sori has been better after the first month, Castro isn't hitting a ton, but he shows you alot every at bat, patience, willing to go the other way, he just needs to grow and learn by the day, I think he's gonna be a stud, I like Colvin, he has good swings everytime I see him, Silva is coming back to earth after that 8-0 start, and Marmol is friggin filthy.

All that, and we still suck.

I didn't expect this thread to lose steam like it did. This is the first season in a long time that I haven't remained current. You know it's bad when my boy had tickets to the Dodgers - Cards series last week, invited me and I turned him down

I am still buzzing from the SC finals and free agency is now upon us.
Cards crush four homers to get by Jays
Garcia steady once again; St. Louis scores four runs in fifth

TORONTO -- The Cardinals used another solid pitching performance by starter Jaime Garcia and four home runs to defeat the Blue Jays, 9-4, on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre.

Catcher Yadier Molina got the Cardinals on the board early with a solo home run off Blue Jays starter Brett Cecil in the second inning. St. Louis, which entered the contest a National League-best 25-5 when scoring first, tacked on a second run with another solo home run, this time from outfielder Matt Holliday, in the third. Holliday finished the night with two RBIs, falling a triple short of the cycle.

With the score knotted at 2 entering the fifth, Holliday once again got the offense going, lacing a two-out double down the left-field line to plate Randy Winn. After an intentional walk to Albert Pujols, his Major League-leading 21st of the season, Ryan Ludwick doubled to score Holliday. The offensive assault did not stop there as third baseman David Freese hit a soft single up the middle to score two runs and cap off a four-run inning.

The Cardinals added two more runs in the eighth on a pinch-hit home run from Colby Rasmus, snapping his 0-for-17 streak at the plate. Second baseman Felipe Lopez also homered -- the Cardinals' fourth of the game -- in the ninth to put the game away.

Garcia, who improved to 7-3, was steady. He surrendered three earned runs on six hits over six innings. It was the first time in 14 starts this season that Garcia has allowed more than two earned runs -- Colorado's Ubaldo Jimenez (13-1, 1.15 ERA) had a 12-start streak that ended June 11, also against the Blue Jays.

Garcia's only major blemish was a two-run home run to Blue Jays' outfielder Jose Bautista in the second inning. Bautista added a solo blast in the seventh off reliever Kyle McClellan, bringing his Major League-leading total to 20.

So this Jaimie Garcia kid has been handling business for us? I am starting to get back into the groove of things and I just ordered the Extra Innings package. Thank God for the MLB Network, after the NHL awards tomorrow night I will be once more completely engulfed in baseball.

I have been in Kenya for 3 weeks. Anything interesting happen? I see the Cubs still suck.

That liitle gift box that Yuku has at the top converts data. When you do it the size of your avatar is no longer 100px by 100px.

Watching us damn near get swept by the Mariners was brutal.
