Been impressed with all the og highs. I'm getting all the color of the months. Waited years for the purples. What's been going the with Jordans is just disgusting. Quality, price, and what you have to do to get your hands on a pair of Jordan's today is insane.

Yeah, I certainly don't blame anybody for getting on board with these. In fact, I applaud them for making smarter choices with their sneaker dollar.

And, I totally get that if Nike wants to get some momentum behind this, they have to push out a classic. But, I hate when a single colorway of a model, which is a great model, captures people and then we have to hear them pretend to love that shoe itself.

We see it over and over.

"I love the Shady Burst" (owns no other pairs of Bursts)
"I love the Supreme Blazers" (owns no other pairs of Blazers)
"I love the Entourage AF1" (owns no other AF1s)

When news that the pruple highs were going to drop hit, I saw all these people who don't give a damn about Forces coming out the woodwork to praise the shoe. Most of those people were either beasting, or showing out that they know what that shoe is so that they can look "with it" to the older heads they are trying to impress.

At the end of the day, I have no problem with a shoe like this getting attention for the right reasons, but some of the attention spike the AF1 got with the drop of the purps is attention for the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately, this is how things go with sneakers (and pretty much anything else) these days.  The same thing happens every time the Infrared 90's drop and it annoys me to no end.   

I'm just glad to be able to get a pair of Purps--lawd knows finding an OG pair in a sz 11 in good condition is damn near impossible.  Feels good to be able to cross this one off the list and have them be affordable, made with decent leathers and pretty good shape.

Hearing this Saturday and the 12th for wheat highs. Don't know what the deal is so I just picked up from a reseller. These might be the first kicks I use some type of protection on. Anyone have any suggestions to keeping the dirt off the suede (and water/stains)

Ronnie Fieg Asics too, although he's done a bunch of pairs.

And, it's funny that the purps sit, and it goes to prove the other part of my point. This is a shoe that people pretend to like. They see it drop, and they go, "oh, this is a shoe that has some history. It might be consisered cool to have these. So, let me say I like them now." But, when it comes time to put their money where their mouths are, they look around and don't see all their sneaker dork friends and overnight internet idols jumping, so they realize they can pass.

Hahaha. Yeah, every few years we have to watch a new generation "discover" one of Nike's most iconinc shoes and colorways in the history of the company.

And, sure, for somebody like you, this release is a fantastic thing. I'm glad that people like you get to get a pair that is "good enough," affordable, and easily attainable.

I think them being a Nike lab release a lot of people don't know about them. People are still asking about the release date. I'm keeping my mouth shut cause I want to double up on these.

I don't care what they do really. Sit or smoke, it's of no interest to me either way. The only new stuff I mess with remains IDs here and there.

But, if you like these kinds of releases and the better quality AF1s with improved shape that you've been getting recently, I think you want something in the middle. You want the releases to be successful enough that Nike sees it as a success and continues to give you what you want. But, you don't want actual hype.
