Someone school me on these. I've seen Escape 2s but not 1s?

I’ll do my best. The original NIKE “Escape” was branding applied to the NIKE Windrunner shoe released in 1988. Two of its most popular colorways would be updated on multiple shoes throughout the years.

Im pretty sure that the actual NIKE Air Escape model was released in 92 or 93. (I’ll include that scan below) As you can see on this catalog page from 1988, the “Escape” colorway was used on multiple shoes.

Fast forward to I think 2003 and NIKE released a huarache in an “Escape” colorway which was then followed by an Air Max 93 and in 2005 we got the blue Escape Air Force 1s, which were soon followed by the brown pair. I had both and beat them into the ground. Since then, several other models got the “Escape” treatment.

Thanks. I'm aware of the Escape program. I just hadn't seen it on an AF1. They are super clean.

I bought those AF2 retros a few years back. What an ill fitting shoe. Bought my normal size and couldn't even get my foot in.

Na its all good. Honestly I didn't know it was that big of a program. I knew about the am1 and am90 and some others but not all of those. Appreciate the info.

I know there was way more though. Clothes too.. I'd love to see Nike bring that pack back. Would make a lot of sense in today's social climate. Celebrate black/brown history by telling stories on shoes.

Wasn’t there also the one w/o Escape tag on the tongue released in the exact same colorway few months before they came out? JD exclusive or something IIRC...

I believe the one on the right is the shoe you are referring to? Both pairs are so clean! JD Sports Bison is what Gusto called them.

I have those. They’ve only gotten better with age. I remember liking the Cubans but I already had a pair of Brown AF1s and I never wore brown.

I’d love to contribute to the thread, but my knowledge on that pack is limited. I remember it well though. That era of Air Force 1s was almost overwhelming with how much dope sh*t that was coming out. I passed on the untold truth pairs because I already owned similar colorways of Air Forces. Looking back, I should’ve bought them.

The shoe I regret selling most from that era is the Italian Lux highs. Hell, I even wish I had my Sheeds from that era. I thought the quality would never stop.
