Lin's turnovers should be down once Melo comes back as he won't have to control the ball as much.

For all the people criticizing Lin for his high number of turnovers, you must not know the game of basketball...Usually, starting PGs that have low turnover numbers do so because they have another ball handler or 2 to help them make plays. Or they play with a team that can create it's own shots more than the average team. But when you're the ONLY ball handler when you're out on the court and don't have the luxury of passing off to a D Wade or Dirk that can create their own shot, it's inevitable to have a lot of turnovers.
Let's look at the league leaders in turnovers shall we...

The same could be said he's only played 7 real NBA games... He could be the benefit of teams knowing nothing about him...
Can't put the shoe on negatives, and assume it doesn't apply to positives as well..
Stop acting like turnovers don't matter... He's good BUT you cannot ignore that if he wants to have a successful career he has to LEARN not to turn the ball over that much.
UPPTEMPO you are arguing whether 3-4 Turnovers as opposed to 6-8. That's a huge difference. Just like 2 turnovers is a huge difference from 4. If he does the 10 assists with 4 turnovers a majority of his games then there would be nothing to say. Hence why I brought up the games he had 1-2. And if he keeps it 4 or under over the long stretch then there would be nothing to say

What are you talking about? Kobe clearly said the team would watch tape on Lin before playing against the Knicks. Kobe, great defender..Ron Artest, great defender. Matt Barnes, great defender. Fisher played him super physical all game. They had 2 seven footers in the paint..Dude dropped 38 points. You're saying they didn't prepare for him?
What about rookies that come into the league? There is no game tape on them and it doesn't prevent other teams from stopping them. I'm not claiming this guy is Chris Paul but he's not the fluke people wanna make him out to be.
Then people come with "Let's see how well he plays against guys like LeBron"..Are you kidding me? Yeah, let's see how 6'3" Jeremy Lin plays against 6'8" LeBron, one of the best all around defenders in the NBA..The same LeBron that held the MVP of the NBA to like 20% shooting in the NBA Playoffs. That's our measuring stick? That's like saying "Let's see how this rookie CB does playing defense on Calvin Johnson. That'll prove how good he is"

In those 3 games of tape he did the same exact thing to the Lakers. It's not like he pulled new tricks out the bag for them specifically. They tried to make him go left and they dropped back on him so he couldn't penetrate. Ok, so game tape is what prevents a player from succeeding? You ever play basketball before? When you hit up the park to play ball, you got game tape of every dude you play against? Some people over think sports way too much. If I'm a better defender than somebody is an offensive player, I will lock them down without ever have seen them play before. You don't need game tape to stop someone from scoring or making plays.
But for argument's sake, I'll go with the point you're trying to make.
Kyrie Irving is the front runner for ROY by a wide margin. His first game in the league, with "no game tape" available since it was his first NBA start, he had 6 points n 7 assists. It was against the Raptors, a team that J Lin had a pretty good game against (started off slow to be fair)
Fast forward to the 4th game of the year. Irving scores 13 points and 4 assists against the Nets...Same team that "Linsanity" began against.
2 games later, he plays against the Raptors again and has 12 points and 4 assists.
Next game is against the T-Wolves, which Lin did decent against, and he has 14 points and 5 assists.
In defense of Kyrie, he eventually hit his stride after 10-12 games and is a much better player now, but this just goes to show that a team not having game tape on you doesn't mean you're gonna be successful. yea derek fisher is the worst defending pg in the league. not saying lin wouldnt have done anything but if kobe wasnt such an ego maniac he should have defended lin from the start. You cut the head off the dragon from the start and you dont let him control the flow of the game
i seriously dont know how derek fisher can go out there and not feel like crap knowing he basically makes it 4 vs 5 out there every night

Well that says a lot about your coach and w/e defensive schemes you're running, especially in that 2nd half. Yall could've got away with Fisher/Blake guarding Fields. You're basically saying Lin scored all those points cuz your best defenders didn't guard him. Who were they guarding?
