I hate this feast or famine Dodger offense. I guess we only bomb the NL Central,

Raffy with another leadoff HR, glad I have him on my fantasy team,

y'all ready to get smacked around for two days?
Sorry, an NL Central team is what we needed to break out of our funk.

EDIT:

Nomaaaaaar!!!!!!

Russell breaking out of his funk will be big for us, and me personally, he's been killing my fantasy squad.

@ the dodgers being so bi-polar.

Nomar batting third, good coaching Joe!

Russell Martin had to break out that funk sooner or later.

Who would have thought an 18 million dollar investment would be batting 8th for us?

Damn Torre dropped Andruw all the way to 8th in the lineup he deserves it though and today Dru was (0-4)

Damn, where is this offensive Beast hiding when we play the teams within the NL West division??

Since this lineup appeared to work today, Torre should stick with it.

It was hard to watch that Atlanta series...

Good to see a little offense finally. Hopefully it's not like the Pittsburgh game where we're unable to get anything for the next week..

Jones out of Dodgers' lineup

CINCINNATI -- Dodgers manager Joe Torre kept alive his streak this year of never repeating a lineup by sitting struggling center fielder Andruw Jones for Tuesday night's game with the Reds.

Jones said his allergies had kicked up, his body was "achy" and his joints were sore "like I got hit by a car." Torre said the outfielder had either cold or flu symptoms. Nobody would deny that his swing also is ailing, as he's batting .159 with one home run and 22 strikeouts in 63 at-bats.

"With the long flight [after Tuesday night's game], we'll give him a blow and get back and hope he's OK tomorrow," said Torre. "We need him to win -- it's as simple as that. That's what I've been telling him. He may sit, but I've been telling him, 'We know we need you and we're not going away from you.'"

But Torre is in a bind, needing to keep the momentum from Monday night's nine-run outburst going and having a veteran like Juan Pierre to insert into the lineup.

Everyone from hitting coaches Mike Easler and Don Mattingly to Braves hitting coach Eddie Perez to the average fan in the stands knows what Jones is doing wrong -- he's trying to pull every pitch for a 500-foot home run. He's pulling off pitches and swinging too hard.

Torre acknowledged that Jones' struggles could be the result of more than a year of bad habits as opposed to a temporary slump, considering Jones' down numbers last season with Atlanta and a Spring Training that looked just like the first three weeks of this season. Torre said Easler and Mattingly have been utilizing drills to get Jones to drive pitches up the middle, but at game speed he reverts to pulling.

Because the problem is as much approach as mechanics, Torre said this is not something that will be cured in one session. But he said Jones is coachable, willing and diligent.

"I know I hit a long home run and went 0-for-11 after that," Torre said. "He hit 50 home runs (51 in 2005), and that gets you in some bad habits. He hit 26 last year, but who knows what he would have done with a different approach. Home runs get everybody excited, but sometimes they get in the way of what a guy is capable of doing.

"He's gradually gotten to the point of pull, pull, pull. He's capable of driving the ball that way [to right and center field]. He can hit it over the center-field fence. He can drive it that way. But it will take some time. It took time to get where he is now."

Dodger Fans, there's supposed to be an announcement tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. PT, about the future of Dodger Stadium...

I wonder what this is about. Iron Man, do you have any insight??

The announcement is themed "The next 50 years at Dodger Stadium" or something along those lines. Frank McCourt will announce, or introduce, theplans for the rest of the stadium. Basically, the whole stadium is going to be renovated by 2012, which coincidentally the 50th anniversary of Dodger Stadium(Opened in 1962). Hopefully they come out with some renderings.

Just to share some of the whispers, remember nothing is set in stone, but by 2012 you will be able to walk around the entire stadium. The Loge Level will getredone at the conclusion of this season, followed by the Reserve Level, and so on. When the Pavilions get redone they will be completely razed, so get used tothose cheap seats now, since they will not be around much longer. I have a feeling you will see Pavilion prices in the line of AT&T Park and AngelsStadium. Also there are plans to make an "Outfield Experience" (Not an official name), where it would be similar to a park where fans could hangout. Furthermore there will be shops and restaurants (fast food) in the outfield area along with a Dodgers museum.

Basically (cliff notes):

2007 - Field Level
2008 - Loge Level
2009 - Reserve Level/ Pavilions?
2010 - Top Deck/ Pavilions?
2011 - Pavilions

I probably dropped more info here than they are going to drop in the press conference tomorrow,

.

So basically the Pavilions would now be connected with the rest of the stadium?.. I wonder how that would look / feel..

IMO, it will look great, but at the same time it will be weird. Dodger fans are used to having the Pavilions secluded. I also think that the Pavilions will notbe as rowdy as they are now. Pavilion fans will be able to walk off their buzz,

That sounds like a whole new Dodger Stadium. Thanks for the info, Iron Man.

As for today's game, I watched a bit from time to time,(was watching the Lakers game), and the Dodgers looked good, even Andruw got a hit. Hopefully, they can start a little winning streak, and the offense will come to life, and not just score only 1 run.

That renovation sounds interesting.

I wonder if they'll show us some sort of sketch or model. I want to see what this is going to look like

Just saw the video narrated by Vin Scully, and if done right, the stadium will be one of the best looking ones around

Now they just need to get earn some championship banners for the next 50 years

can the dodgers be playing any worse baseball....there were favorites to win the division and maybe have a shot at the title....what the hell is goin on....inever thought we would be competing with the giants!!

The pitching has not been what we're used to seeing in the past, our ace is 3-2, Lowe continues to struggle, his elbow is probably not 100%, Kuroda isdecent, and Bills still doesn't seem like he can close out a game without giving up so many runs.

bills got 11 k's in 5 innings last game.....it is amazing that he still allowed 5 runs...or that the dodgers SUPER good hitting couldn't put up 5 aswell....

He has some nasty stuff, and he will be a future #1 or 2 starter. It's just when he gets to a high pitch count, he tends to start throwing hard, instead of pitching.

The Dodgers defense just made a lot of mental mistakes last night, hopefully they can bounce back tonight, cuz I will be there
