Walk around downtown for now. take the light rail to the MOA.

Friedmans at 400 N. Broadway Ave. north of downtown a lil is thee BEST mom/pops in the metro area, but is like a dusty basement.
Vs. Social Standard in uptown and Southdale(west of mall of america, accessible via bus route 515 from MOA or 6 from downtown)
PhenomGlobal in SaintPaul 153 North Snelling Ave. via bus route 16 from downtown mpls and then 84 from snelling/university ave.
If you driving, null all bus routes.
restaurants? downtown: fogo de chao, pricey but
uptown: chino latino, stellas, chiang mai thai, tea garden(not restaurant, just a cool boba tea shop on hennepin and 25th i think or so)

Dont forget Status in uptown and the new store they opened up in the MOA "Reign".
The other stores mentioned are good, also try Roberts on Lake St.
Dont forget the Nike Outlet in Albertville or the Nike Store in the MOA
Restaurants try Fogo De Cho(I think thats how its spelled), It's located downtown minneapolis.

You and the wife? On your way to the mall, be sure to hop off at the Minnehaha Park stop and swing by the Falls.
It's a dope area in general, very underrated in my opinion.
