Official Mitchell and Ness Thread: Jerseys, Hats, Shirts, Shorts, Questions POST EM UP

You can play the what if game w/ every pro athlete.

Go ahead and take his ring from '88, still has 4 w/ 3 FMVP's and he's still the GOAT PG.

Never heard anyone say that Shaq/Kobe gotta give up their ring from '02, since we talking about robberies and all.

the what if game is crazy. Take .4 and dirks 3 point play in 06 out, perhaps San Antonio wins every year from 03-07.

if Isiah doesn’t get hurt in 88, maybe Detroit 3 peats. Also, if a Laker team who was peaking in 89 sweeping through the playoffs doesn’t get hit with the injury bug, they beat Detroit and 3 peat given aside from game 1, every game in that series was close. Similar concept in 91 with the Lakers missing Worthy.

09 Celtics without Garnett. The what if game will mind **** you because you can make compelling arguments for a lot of them.

I wasn’t questioning the fact that Magic’s the GOAT PG. Just putting things into perspective, seeing how close that series was and how Detroit got screwed by the officials with the title on the line. I think fair officiating in this series would’ve completely altered the way we remember Isiah, who’d have only one fewer title than Magic and as many as Larry. And the gap between Magic and Curry/Isiah would be closer. Again, just putting into perspective, not diminishing Magic’s greatness.

You’re right.

I only play the what if game for series and championships decided by the officials, when I feel the integrity of the game is compromised: DET-LAL ´88, SAC-LAL ´02, HOU-GSW ´18. Injuries and crazy basketball plays are part of the game, fixed games shouldn’t be. Anyway, I’ve made my point.

I need that lakers kobe jersey tooo fire!!!

Mailman X my son!!!

Finals MVP is a gimmick award just like All Star Game MVP. Neither one of them matter.

Sorry, this is bothering me so I have to address it:

First, a gimmick (as it's most commonly used) is a novel concept employed in order to gain attraction (e.g., televised captains' picks for all-star games). The idea of a gimmick mvp award is nonsensical.

Second, to say that both awards are meaningless is a horrible take. The all-star game is an exhibition, so yes, that award is unimportant. The finals mvp, even if you quibble over the voting, is usually awarded to the best player on the winning team (except in the case of Jerry West).

The finals mvp is very meaningful, which is why I take issue with some results in the past. We're ultimately talking about a player's legacy. I'd even argue that finals mvp is more important than regular season mvp. Pretty sure Barkley and Malone would trade their mvps for finals mvps and chips over Jordan.

Hey can anyone who owns the 2009–10 kobe let me know if it runs short in the front? From pictures the back is longer, I’m just not sure if the back is cut longer or if the front is cut shorter?

TIA

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to respond to that nonsense, because I sure as hell wasn't going to,

Word, shouldve just gave both of Kawhis to Matt Bonner and Jeremy Lin since theyre basically a participation trophy

Just a couple years ago I was getting killed for saying y'all should be wearing shoes that match the player or era cause half of y'all were wearing these shorts with ugly Yeezys or some running shoes. Now it's all I see.
