Unemployment is very low. Employers (for whatever reason) can’t fill open positions. Why is it surprising that Americans are focused elsewhere?

The problem Bezos has is that Joe Biden is pro-labor and wants to give workers a large increase to their welfare state and the expense of the ultra rich.

This is his problem with Biden. That he needs to make a reasonable centrist democrat seem out of touch the second they suggest taxing the rich to help the poor.

He doesn't want the Democratic party to unify around something like BBB. So a saboteur like Manchin is presented as the reasonable guy in the room

Conservative forces, both the GOP and big city mayors and police unions have very cynically and very effectively been able to blame crime and minor increases in crime on “woke” policies and rhetoric.

Related to this is the tendency to blame inflation and recessions on relatively mild anti-poverty measures, even temporary ones.

The dominant narrative is clear. Any attempt to create a more inclusive, and more just society leads to calamity.

When it comes to setting the parameters of how people perceive the world and how it operates, I hate to say it but libertarians have won. At least thus far.

For better or worse, history is decided by dedicated cadres and not by the whims of the people whose political world views sway based on whatever spectacle they are viewing at a given moment.

A dedicated cadre can change the material reality and can make police unions and plutocrats into outcasts and when that happens the new framing of reality, for most people, will be that their own individual freedom and prosperity is tied to building a fairer and more inclusive society.

The Supreme Court released some nasty decisions

Conservatives are playing the victim at being accused of pushing Replacement theory

Centrists are giving them cover by suggesting they are just talking about demographic change

NY House Map got redrawn and it more favorable to Republicans

Oil prices spiking again

Nasty day around
