Yeah, although it is actually kind of tricky. The DOD has like $3.5T (yes, T) in assets including a couple million employees, couple hundred thousand physical assets at their thousands of sites, tens of thousands of aircraft/ships, a massive healthcare system.

It’s essentially a result of ballooning the DoD to the size that it is. It wasn’t audited for so long because there was no easy or proper way to do it and that’s why it has failed every time

Contractors know they can pretty much finesse at will too.

If we're king of the US, I would happily spend $100 billion to audit it properly. Would make that money back easily.
