Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Roommate and I watched American Animals [2018] last night... has one of the kids from Dunkirk in it and one of the kids from X-Men: First Class...

Surprised by how enjoyable it was, about 10% of the movie sporadically cuts to documentary-style interviews with the real people.

6/8

I thought it was a pretty decent movie too especially since it was based on a true story. I'm always a sucker for "based on a true story" movies🤷‍♂️

Peeped the first 3 episodes of Truth Seekers last night. Amazon show featuring Nick Frost as a broadband installer who’s real interest is investigating the paranormal. I liked it.

It’s a comedy that’s not hilarious, but the laughs are consistent enough. And the plot is building in an interesting way (to me). Planning on finishing it out.

This was my only familiarity with Gina Carano before The Madalorian. I did not realize how stout she is just based on this gif.

Well she wasn't stout then, I believe she was still fighting or just retired and in great shape.

Also even though I don't remember it, I remember enjoying Haywire.

Last I heard she's an All Lives Matter, Good Ol Gal, yes? :Smh:

Yep. Sure is. Recently posted something on SM saying “might as well have those masks over your eyes because you’re blind to what’s really going on.”

Human Centipede is the worst sin again the world of film that I can imagine. Irreversible was a bold and controversial cinematic victory that stands the test of time. IMO the only thing the Human Centipede should be compared to is the fiery bowel movement that I endured from a very spicy burrito two nights ago, except the burrito aftermath hurt my body less than having to endure the climax and utterly infuriating ending that was Human Centipede.

Thank you for attending my TED Talk.
Cinematically they don’t compare.
Human Centipede is one of those films when you mention, those who have seen it instantly know it’s a mess and any reason you mention it is likely to remember or conjure it’s shock value and ease at which it turns stomachs.

This was my intended comparison.
Human Crntipede was a Film I watched maybe 20years ago, and it was a joke.(I am down to rewatch again, actually I’ll do that this week)

Irreversible succeeded in doing what I could only imagine Human Centipede had in mind.

It was a hard film to get through without feeling something Gut wrenching, in fact that feeling never stopped it only went up and down. I was glued to the screen yet nauseated throughout.

I couldn’t understand the undertones of disgust I was feelingthroughout so what did I do when it was over, I wanted more.....

I read up on it and immediately it became clear, my dizzy nausea mess that I thought came from disgust was purely a Cinematic sound effect called 28HZ

“The first 30 minutes of Irreversible features an almost inaudible background frequency of 28 Hz. It's a noise similar to one produced by an earthquake and can cause nausea, sickness, and vertigo – exactly the sort of ambiance you need when you're watching a man's head get pulped like a grapefruit.”

When I was done watching the FILM, I read about it and 28HZ for another 2hours, and then I watched the film again.
The French have a way with FILM that stands above what you’re/Most are used to, even myself.
Hard to diss that’s for sure.

Human Centipede is like 10 years old famb  But yes, the director of HC could only dream of making a film that's even on the same scale of Irreversible when it comes to the effect of shock and disgust. Except for the writing and directing which was shockingly horrible.

Someone recommended a movie in here recently and I can't for the life of me remember what is was. Been going through pages. For some reason I feel like it was S. Korean. Definitely a lesser known title from what I remember.

Any plot points you remember?
