Cons:
-some of the casting/acting just didn’t work
-some dialogue just sounded weird
-some of the most iconic trials like the siren and cyclops weren’t done that well and skipped some very important parts from the original story.
Pros:
-Some of the scenes like the ending was done really well
-Robert Pattinson and Anne Hathaway killed it
-Costume design was great for the most part and some of the shots by Christopher Nolan was fire
Overall this felt like a very “Christopher Nolan” film, which is good but comes with flaws.

I get you on the dialogue being, “hard to hear”, my dad who is denying he needs a hearing aid said the same thing.
“Some of the casting/acting just didn’t work” but you don’t elaborate.
Your only saving grace was that you love Obsession which is an 8/8.

Apparently, the theater I'm seeing The Odyssey at tomorrow (70mm at Cinerama in Seattle) is only showing the movie. No trailers, no ads, just the movie. That's kinda cool. Normally, they'll show one or two trailers for upcoming movies, plus trailers for classics they show at the theater as part of their film series. Last time I went they showed trailers for E.T., North by Northwest and Casablanca.
