PAU GASOL

Agree on Bosh, but not Amare.

Gasol brings much more to a team than Amare. STAT's pretty one-dimensional.

Duncan
KG
Dirk
Bosh
Pau

My faith in Brand is shaky after this year.

1. I'm pretty sure the OP was only talking about his offencive skill set not necessarily his overall ranking. If thats the case then yes Pau is easily atop 5 power forward.
2. When you reach level of ability it's hard to say which player is definitively better than another, how they produce has more to do with the role thatthey have to play.

In the Lakers offence Pau Gasol is pretty much the perfect player to have and I don't think any other power forward can do what he does better.

Pau Gasoft is in the top 10 for sure

100% ahead of him: TD, Dirk, Amare

Then maybe Pau/KG

Close behind: Al Jefferson, Chris Bosh's neck, David West

If Gasol is supposedly a top 5 PF in the league, I guess he can carry that Lakers team without Kobe Bryant being on it and be the no.1 option and let theoffense run through him. Gasol can go to just about any team in the league and make them a playoff contender? Ask yourself these questions before consideringhim top 5. Bosh and Gasol are similar when it comes to the way they play the game, but Bosh is A LOT less fearless than Pau. I don't see how Gasol can onlybe a 2nd option in the league on a team that already has a star, but he's a top 5 PF because it was clear that he wasn't a 1st option player when inMemphis during the playoffs.

I wouldn't even give him 2nd best offensively. His length helps him finish at times, but for the most part people can just overpower the poor guy in thepaint.

It's hard to say because we don't know how much those other players would benefit by playing with Kobe and in the Triangle.

Gasol went from a career 50.5% shooter to a 57.6% in his time with the Lakers.

Looking at the stats shows us that he and Amare are probably an interchangeable 1-2 when it comes to offense alone, much lower when other factors are takeninto consideration.

Gasol is shooting better from the field and the charity stripe, is a better passer, is more likely to draw fouls, and commits less turnovers.

While playing fearless may get Bosh more free throw attempts, it also leads to more turnovers.

Regardless, Bosh takes more jumpers than Gasol, so that fearlessness doesn't translate to inside, high percentage play.

His length helps him finish at times, but for the most part people can just overpower the poor guy in the paint.
How many teams are actually doing that to him though? Clearly not enough.

agrees.

after hearing this dude, i don't think pau is top 5.

top 5 means = franchise player.

pau failed as franchise player in memphis.

i mean dude gets wide open 50% of the time due to triangle offense. i'm sure i can do that as well. lol

i know this dude PRETTYPLAYA is just waitin for a right moment to put Lebron into the discussion..

I'm just befuddledrated and confusified that some of you guys would put Pau in front of Garnett.

Seriously? Rewind to the day we got Gasol, and imagine it was Garnett instead. You mean to tell me you wouldn't have been more happy, Laker fans? Andnon-Laker fans, you wouldn't have been more pissed off if it were KG instead of Pau?

People in here mentioning Amare.

You people even watch his games, or just read his boxscore?

Everytime Gasol comes up I think to myself my wiz could have had him.

But no we took Kwame

If you look at the OP he said offensively is their a better PF than Pau? For the triangle I think he is pretty much the perfect player.

I think it's a trade off, Pau would make you better offensively by virtue of him being a better passer and an effective post player but Garnett is prettymuch perfect for the floating zone principles Kurt Rambis is trying to install.

The best offensive PFs in the league as far as skill set goes are:
-TD
-Pau
-Bosh
-Dirk

Dude can pass, shoot, and post any player in the league. He knows how to face up. And the key point here is that he doesn't shoot that many jumpers, onlyenough to make people respect the shot.

Even offensively, I'm having trouble putting _irk behind Pau.

I guess it comes down to the fact that Pau's passing game is superior to _irk's while _irk's range is superior to Pau's.
