I think you miss the point of the PAWN SHOP BUSINESS.  They always state it right up front, THEY NEED TO MAKE A PROFIT.  They dont lie...if your item is "worth" $50.  They will offer you $10 and go from there.  rip off? maybe..then dont go to a pawn shop.  Sure you can get $50 value if you are patient, go on ebay or cl and hope for the best.  But if you need cash money right now...you go get effed at a pawn shop.  The shop has to make money on every item it sells. I think they are pretty upfront about it to all the customers on the show.
