I pick Vegas, just recently relocated here8)

my job has a esports lounge we can use to rent out or i can check out some options for venue

Do it in Santa Barbara, CA I can host at my place.
Pong, projector screen with 2k/madden/fifa/cod, 2nd TV for movies or more video games, art, persian rugs (take your shoes off before you enter)
I got a keg on tap
we have bbq's outside by the pool, 5 of them.
2 pools, 3 jacuzzis at the club house
all kinds of snow bunnies running around especially near october
chic fil a down the street for more food
Isla Vista, CA (college town) 4 blocks away for more beezies

in fact, we can do this anytime for any so cal NT'ers as well.

but id be down to host a bigger one if METH comes.
This sounds lit after tbh

went to the SF one. and I'm in the pic but obviously I wouldn't want to travel far seeing as Oakland is closer to me or SJ but I have no problem letting another spot in the country have shine.

still in tho once spots start to open

Vegas’s since i moved to Texas from nyc I’ll def show up.

Can we do a pick up basketball game tourney ?

Vegas is perfect for these kinds of things, free parking literally everywhere, and convention rooms large or small. For those worried about Vegas and the underage... dont. Kids can get into casinos a night time, they just cant gamble/drink (of course). DC is my second choice, but thats just me being selfish.

people sayin vegas
but gonna flake watch
folks dont even show up to party chat on psn or live

If we were to host it in Las Vegas, or at a fancy venue in general, we'd likely have to ask people to pay a reasonable ticket price. Last time around, we ultimately had more applicants than we could grant tickets to - but maybe 1/5th of those who received a ticket flaked. The tickets were free and if something else came up, people were free to change their plans.

If you actually pay for a ticket, odds are you're not going to bail - and the ticket price would allow us to pay for a nice venue and/or raise money for charity. If the tickets are reasonable (say, $25), hopefully most people would consider it a win/win.

You don't have to pay to vote, however, so that is something that has to be factored in when evaluating the results. We've dealt with that same thing when evaluating hat/t-shirt polls. Clicking a box is very different than actually booking a flight and a hotel room, and it's a much larger commitment than hopping on a train or driving 40 minutes. Las Vegas is arguably the easiest destination in North America for everyone to reach by plane, but that's a much higher burden than encouraging local area community members to meet up.

I feel like if we were to host the event in Las Vegas, expectations might be a little different as a result. NT Live 2016 was a very laid back, low key hangout event. It was not a sneaker convention - and that was by design. With sponsor support and high demand, we could make a Las Vegas event a little more complicated (panel discussion, separate after party/happy hour event, etc.), but it's never going to be CES or one of those horrible sneaker conventions with a bunch of teenagers presiding over table after table of sneakers. We wouldn't want anyone to fly across the country for this and be disappointed by it.

Sponsor support makes a world of difference in budgeting these events, as I think we'd all prefer to see them yield a net gain for charity through the charity auction and perhaps merchandise sales than a net loss by taking a big chunk of NT's budget that could otherwise be donated. It's difficult, however, to get sponsors to commit to something that's unproven. That's why we're looking to expand on the original event step by step. It would take a big outpouring of support for us to make the leap to a larger scale event in Las Vegas this year - but that type of support would undoubtedly energize us to take on the challenge. The point of getting everyone involved this early is to help ensure that our team creates an event that you all would enjoy, and host it where the most community members would enjoy it.

For all the work that went in to NikeTalk Live 2016, everyone involved in that event all say the same thing: it was the people who attended that event who made it great. The most common description of it was "like NikeTalk in real life." That's why we're trying to plan it far enough in advance that those most interested in attending the event will have the opportunity to help shape it through their preferences and feedback.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed that DC's not showing out on this one. I didn't expect it to win, but a respectable showing would be nice. ("Respectable" isn't a word frequently used to describe certain teams or individuals associated with Washington, D.C. of late.)

Question.

Will you be there?

We should which off, one year west coast another year east coast or mid west, if we get a good turn out on our 5th year head overseas like Canada just to be fair to others

Was at the one in SF in 2016, (see me in the pic ) it was super dope. I’d love to see it back in the Bay Area! I’ll be there again for sure!!
