\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Well I went from being dead set on buying a Mach E GT a couple months ago to pulling the trigger on a new Honda Civic sport under MSRP. At the end of the day I couldn’t justify spending 60k on his first car and since I couldn’t find a fusion for under 24k like I found this civic. I’m gonna try and fly and pick it up on Sunday then have to hide it til Christmas. Will be a long 3 months lol

You were gonna get a Mach E as his first whip? Hell nah.

New Civics are nice, though I dont get their new trim levels. I had last gen Civic Sport Hatchback and that had the bigger engine. This gen though the Sport gets the smaller engine. Wtf.

I was , it made sense to me. Larger back seat, larger interior room in general ( he’s 6’1 and his teammates are taller) he would never have to worry about gas as all his events are well within the 300mi range sw he could always charge at home but at the end of the day it came down to money and reliability.

I didn’t wanna put him in a questionable sun 10k car where I have have to worry about something happening while at one of his tournaments but then looking at the used car market all cars with sub 50 were 20k and up . That’s when I knew I wanted to find the cheapest new car I could. Also a dealership semi local to me is selling the same civic I bought on the used market with 8k mi on it for 11k more than I paid so I feel I have a 5k test drive to see if this was the right decision

You dont think he'll feel a bit cramped in the Civic? Maybe not by himself but you mentioned his teammates so idk if they travel together. My boy is also 6'1 and has a Civic Sport and he feels fine in it by himself, im 5'10 and my last gen Civic was decently roomy but does feel cramped when theres 4 in there.

The Cadillac Celestiq is a battery-electric four-passenger hatchback that's built by hand and tailor-made for individual customers. $300,000.

200 different exterior colors. This might not end well.

I'm sorry, but this will end in a massive fail! Will they sell a few? Sure. But VERY FEW people will spend $300K for a Cadillac!

It’s an interesting conundrum and perspective on your part (I’m assuming your a Ford fan from your username) as I think your reaction is that of a Lamborghini/Porsche/Ferrari enthusiast entrenched mindset to the unveiling of the Ford GT.

While the counter will be ‘but heritage’ regarding the Ford think the 30K view here is that the path has to start somewhere/sometime, just as it did with Ford, and GM clearly needs Cadillac to move further upmarket.

My issue with this is the current economic environment isn’t ideal, but truth be told this looks far more interesting than the Rolls Royce EV, which speaks to the berth of mainstream OEMs design/manufacturing ability if given an appropriate budget vs. ‘Exotic’ boutique OEMs.

Doug DeMuro with the birdman handrub. Bet he cant wait to review one of these.

That being said, I kinda like the design. Im one of the few that loves wagons or shooting brake type cars. This for some reason I dig and thats saying alot cause I aint a Caddy fan at all.

One of the few? Every car person seems to have some love affair with shooting brakes and wagons especially. oh and purple cars too.

My point exactly

That color just reminds me of something mid 2000s era bam would have driven. Not saying that’s a bad thing though necessarily since he did have a lot of nice cars.
bam margera?

haven't heard his name in a while, his show was legendary tho

Yeah. We are from the same town, and he had a purple lambo so I’ll always associate purple cars with him.

He’s like 4-5 years older than me and had a nogaro blue b5 s4 when I was probably around 16 that I thought was the best car ever. That car Definitely inspired some of my love for Audis.

blast from the past talking about the bam's blue s4.

gonna put on the mustard man music video now.

I went to cars and coffee and there was a McLaren Speedtail

The tuner crowd really turned out in heavy numbers early at this one. The lot was full by 8:20, and they were turning away some exotics that didn't have reserved spots.

Yeah, I stayed home as Saturday was a busy day. The whole "paid reserved spots" thing hurts this event. Dude who runs it charges $20 per reserved spot for regular people (and some people pay and don't show so the empty space sits unused) and $300 PER advertiser PER month. Dude is making 4-figures from all the detailers who advertise their businesses (there were 6 one month) plus several regular businesses that advertise. And this lot is free parking on the weekends. And telling some where they can't and can't park (each row for certain cars).

Not sure if you saw a black Murcielago roadster come and go. Buddy of mine just got it. He's a PDR guy (and a crypto guy who made out early). Self-employed and he's REALLY GOOD! He always put his small company decal on the back window of his prior Gallardo and now has it on the back piece of glass behind the seats. They told him he can't come in UNLESS he paid $300!

He said he'd leave, as he didn't know about the fee and was pissed he was told what he can and can't have on his car. They were adamant for him to not leave, "please stay, just pay $300". Yeah, he left. Place is becoming a **** show! 😞 Shame as it was a good show at one point. And I'll go for a little bit if I don't have something else going on (I can go for a bit and book before it gets super crazy) Just felt like sleeping in a bit (as I leave around 7:15 to get a spot by 8 am) this past weekend.

Just an FYI, the owner of the Speedtail is the same guy who has the F40 that shows up, and also a Burton Blue P1 and other McLarens. He goes by @dougie196 on Instagram. Nice guy.

Also, McLaren is having their last Supercar event Sunday during the F1 race. From 2-6.

His old purple Gallardo (with the Billy Idol added sunroof) is now owned by Rose Lux motors up in Pa somewhere. Saw it dropped off at Lamborghini Philly for service last year. Car was ROUGH! supposedly guy is restoring it.
