Rumor is that this specific patched ws Yankees hat was NEVER made in the USA. Were black nasties called this because of the black under and ugly aesthetics? Or was it because of the Chinese poly on this specific cap was a literal dust and lint trap? I guess what I’m saying is, not all black nasties are created equal.

It's because of the black under and aestehtic. Wool fitteds also fit me bitter than Poly fitteds, which is what they switched the material too. You're right that they're not all created equal...the Angels had a black underbrim before the rest of the league switched to it.

The Chinese poly seen on 99% of these ws yankee hats was indeed A lint and dirt trap, but I wouldnt Call them unusable or skin cell trappers. I guess it’s a nice description and spin on selling Bangladesh wool, which may be as bad as the Chinese poly of old lol.

I still got 3-4 of these brand new. My favorite fitted here. I loved the double patch. I remember when prices dropped I thought about buying a few bigger sizes and I wish I did. ****in 3-4 7 1/2s just sitting packed away.

The patches on that hat look small and cheap. Hat looks fake.

A 2006 tigers ws patch grey under wool , and a basic Yankees grey under 2006 era cap (this one has those vertical creases from years of general wear lol).

both are perfectly curved and shaped and just amazing as is.

at both hats, nothing like a perfect curve.

And I'm not big on coloured bottoms but the blue sets this off perfectly.

New pickup

macys had this stadium patch series pop up last month. Didn’t know what to expect.

Made in Bangladesh poly. Kind of a lint trap but not too bulbous. Fits a tad large. Grey under. White side flag. Double outline bulky batterman.

The patch is cheap (stitched only around the edges) and ugly but this color is something that new era consistently messes up on. The other retro that’s been around uses dark navy. The original was more of a light navy, so this is truly to OG form (which is never done enough. HC has one I believe but their M is too large. And the retro classic variety seems to use black). Hard to get right retro was an easy pickup. I’ll keep. B- overall as far as quality. A for colorway effort. .

The new M is nearly flat, while the Chinese retro has more raised gold layers. I believe the Chinese retro is correct in that fashion. Not sure why this lost era in brewers cap history is so hard to get right.

There was a small lull in hype for hats a few months ago and it shot back up now that summer is coming. Non hatclub sites took 5-15 min to sell out of most custom hats and now it's back to instant sell outs again. You have 45 seconds to decide if you want a hat even if it's on some random hat site.

Yep. Even ebay shot back up. Crazy times, even for vintage buyers. What used to sit for $15-$25 is now $50.

HC released a nearly perfect 98 era cap a few years back. MUSA with imported materials. Grey under. Black sweatband. Tonal flag and a perfect red white blue batterman. But then the actual M was way too big.

Size does matter.

in the most basic regards, this light navy smaller M is the most accurate retro example seen since this actually released 20 plus years back.

99% of the other patch caps have 90% of the patch stitched into the side of the cap. Maybe it’s meant to be and I can get rid of this crap?
