Could we build a pyramid like the ones in Egypt today if we wanted to? Do we have the technology/engineering?

I'm having an argument with someone who claims we can't build the pyramids today if he wanted to because he's been watching too muchhistory channel. The question/mystery of the pyramids is whether how they built it back then not if we can build it today. I asked a few of my civilengineering buddies and they said he's stupid for thinking that.Originally Posted by Mangudai954
I was reading an interview of some scientist who was planning to build one in Russia. This was a few years ago, im not sure if he went through with it but he had everything planned out.

Exactly, there is no economic impetus for us to build a pyramid today. It would be a huge waste of money and resources.
I guess we can build one of artistic appreciation but it would cost a lot. As far as buildings go, the shape of a pyramid makes it useless.Originally Posted by B Smooth 202

The point is to create architecture.

For what? The same reason any other piece of architecture is created...Infrastructure defines culture and beauty.Originally Posted by KayCurrency

I'm tryna convince this dude of how absurd an argument this is. I feel offended for the 20th century. I barely know how something as simple asa fax machine or a TV works, and dude is out here tryna argue that we can't build a pyramid.Originally Posted by wawaweewa
