QUESTION ABOUT THE PYRAMIDS

Could we build a pyramid like the ones in Egypt today if we wanted to? Do we have the technology/engineering?

I was reading an interview of some scientist who was planning to build one in Russia. This was a few years ago, im not sure if he went through with it but hehad everything planned out.

I'm having an argument with someone who claims we can't build the pyramids today if he wanted to because he's been watching too muchhistory channel. The question/mystery of the pyramids is whether how they built it back then not if we can build it today. I asked a few of my civilengineering buddies and they said he's stupid for thinking that.

I guess we can build one of artistic appreciation but it would cost a lot. As far as buildings go, the shape of a pyramid makes it useless.

What were pyramids used for back in the day? Bodies.

If I was rich enough, I'd rather be buried in a giant pyramid (with death traps so people can't steal the vast amounts of earthly wealth I'm takingwith me) rather than be buried in the dirt somewhere next to regular dead folk.

But seriously tho, do you know how incredible a structure this was back then. Even by today's standards this would be quite and undertaking.

I was watching a program on National Geopgraphic channel that said we could build the Pyramids no problem, but that it would literally take 20yrs.

For what? The same reason any other piece of architecture is created...Infrastructure defines culture and beauty.

I'm tryna convince this dude of how absurd an argument this is. I feel offended for the 20th century. I barely know how something as simple asa fax machine or a TV works, and dude is out here tryna argue that we can't build a pyramid.
