E6000 works pretty well. It dries like rubber so it is able to flex with the shoe as it's worn. I've never used it on an entire sole though, only small parts that needed to be glued back.

I’ve used shoe glue, it works as intended but the way you apply it depends cause the glue can get very sticky or can harden badly. So you gotta apply it with some finesse.
