Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

That I listen to lyrics 🤷‍♂️

For some reason I noticed online it's some sort of attack on him, to really attack all older rappers.
I think that has to do w/ the lack of respect for other parts of the genre outside his bubble.
Older rappers get treated like pandhandling war veterans, smh
They ran w/ it, and it bit them in the ***.

I can't think of one hip hop album from the 80s I can say I like.
Man, what? Its the "golden-age"

Life is Too Short
Paul's Boutique
Adventures of Slick Rick (He od'd w/ that shaker at times)
Straight Out the Jungle
Straight Outta Compton
License to Ill
Forces to Nature
Boogie Down Production
Takes a Nation
3 Feet....
Run DMC
Its just hard not lookin at LL funny after "accidental racist" so yeah.
I rarely hear him speak, so where was this lack of respect?

Nelly, a ****ing pop rapper?

I've found tracks I liked on the ones I've listened to, but as whole albums, they're just boring.

So a Vlad TV interview
Its not a one time though. You ever see ppl not giving LL, Slick Rick, or Runs DMC their props? No.

Krs try hard *** chases away women & anything remotely fun w/ his preachy *** no ***** gettin raps, he a hatin *** ***** if I ever saw one.

He doesn't even do that many interviews. He's not Lord Jamar. His Drink Champs he wasn't sitting and complaining about new rappers.

I've seen a bunch of rappers, even current say similar things about rap.

You hate Scarface too?

You dudes are trying to rewrite history.

What did your dad play?
CDs I remember he had growing up were It Takes a Nation, 2Pac Greatest Hits, Life After Death, TP2.com(my favorite).

He is also a big Michael Jackson and Billy Ocean fan.

Edit:. He also was a fan of Jaheim.

My dad is a h**** a**** n_ but he had a “Rap A Lot Records” decal sticker bombed to his bedroom door. My family always had great taste in music. Moms had everything, Unc was a DJ. We still got them vinyls records ducked and tucked at grandma house
