It's sad I can't go to a sporting event anywhere, especially at my school without

at the way people are acting. I've seen dudes throw fulldrinks at girls for wearing the other teams colors. I remember seeing some dude getting jumped at a Cal game a few years back for rocking UCLA colors...thatone is actually on YouTube

Issues off the court were as interesting than the actual series Monday night as Kenyon Martin challenged fans in the stands and his mother again was a magnet for controversy.

Martin had plenty of time to survey what was happening in the stands behind the Nuggets bench when a flagrant foul was called on Antoine Wright in the second quarter.

During a lengthy delay as referees reviewed the call, Martin walked a few feet down from the Nuggets' bench toward midcourt. His mother, Lydia Moore, was seated four rows up in the stands.

Martin repeatedly challenged a fan or fans, yelling at them with several obscenities used.

Martin's mother had been the center of a post-game issue with Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban after Game 3.

She did not appear to be causing any sort of scene in the stands.

She was seated next to Carmelo Anthony's girlfriend, but the rest of the section around her was all Maverick fans.

The Mavericks hired six extra police officers to man positions near the Nuggets' bench, near Martin's mother and around the Mavericks' bench.

This has gone too far IMO, something needs to be done, Martin/Cuban need to have their "talk" or the next time we see KMart in Dallas, he will bebeing drug out of the stands by his whole team

alot of these so called fans who try and start stuff are soft though. its just when you involve alcohol and they outnumber you they try to get cute, yet ifone of them were by themselves, they wouldn't say nothing.

back during the 2007 season, i went to a dodgers mets game with my son, and two of big tongan friends. i'm at the game midning my business, i got my metsstuff on and am cheering for my team but i'm not being rude about it or anything and i was joking with some of the fans in the seats next to us, it was allgood fun, later on in the game though i started getting crap from these dudes a few rows down. this was the season after the mets swept the dodgers in theplayoffs. after hearing enough i told them that they have no room to talk considering my team swept their team out the playoffs and told them to shut the hellup and sit down, those 3 vaginas took it as disrespect and tried to fight me/jump me in front of my child. Next thing you know my two tongan friendsintervened and punked the hell out of them and were going to beat them up. the 3 idiot fans response was hilarious, they told my boys, "why you helpinghim, he's wearing mets stuff" the 3 dudes nearly pooed themselves when my boys told them that i was with them and didn't say nothing for the restof the game.

that being said its idiots in every crowd you go to. both fans of the home and road teams.

It started as a smart %!% comment that I know that no one heard. How do I know, because there was a reporter right there next to me, as well as other people who saw the whole thing and didnt hear a word of it.

But at this point, that has become irrelevant. It doesnt matter why I said it. I shouldn't have said anything. Now, the reality is that this has gotten out of hand.

When tempers and such start impacting the fan experience both in Dallas and Denver, and it requires special security, thats not what I want for Mavs or Nuggets fans. No one takes more abuse and gets more threats on the road than I do. So I know exactly how it feels. I've also had my family and friends spit on at games in this series. So I know how unpleasant that is as well. It's a dirty secret that all arenas need to do a better job of protection for visiting team fans, particularly during the playoffs.

So at this point I would like to apologize to you and your mom KMart for my comment. I should have not said anything and I was wrong. Hopefully you will accept the apology and we can move on.

When the series comes back to Dallas, your family, and the family of other Nuggets players are welcome to stay in my suite, with my family. Its amazing how tempers mellow when real people talk to each other and realize that its still just a game.

If that isn't acceptable, I'm happy to provide a suite, free of charge to them as well and place whatever security is needed to make them feel comfortable.

We tried to have enough additional security for them tonight as well, but I know your family and friends didn't feel as comfortable as they should. I apologize for that as well. This arena is my responsibility, we could and should do a better job.

So if we can put this behind us, I will make sure when the series comes back to Dallas, your family and friends, and that of your teammates are very comfortable at our Arena.

IMO this is the worst thing Cuban has done. Everything else I understood because it was about the team.

But this was just wrong. There are things you just don't do as a man much less an opposing NBA owner.

The Nuggets shouldn't allow Cuban to sit with the team in Denver.

Not just for the plain case that he did what he did on his turf in Dallas but for his safety as well.

Denver fans will get on Cuban especially if he is in those seats under the basket like he always does on road trips. I know he will be probably be sitting inthose seats (which shows he has balls) but for his safety, he should consider the move.

those fans (like many stupid NBA fans during this time) who decided to take it to the next level and make this worse have no right to get involved in thesituation.

Just like it was said, this not isolated to certain teams or cities. every team has fans that just take it to that next level and do not know where not tocross the line. Dallas fans are actually some of the best fans in the NBA.

Those selected few should be the ones being attacked and not the general population of team fans.

I am also surprised JKidd did not try to get involve to calm the situatuion down somewhat being friends with Kenny and all.


Game 5 in Denver should be interesting to say the least. Also cuban saying WHEN the series comes back to Dallas

i know a few ppl in the mavs organization and cuban receives all types of verbal abuse EVERY road game. And, I mean EVERY ROAD game. Sometimes he'll evenpost some of the comments he receives on his blog.

He was def wrong for what he said to kenyon's mom. I'm just surprised it took this long for him to lose his composure.

Oh, and this is why arenas have suites. Dont expect your family to be coming into open arms at any road game, especially in the playoffs.

qft, i have heard some crazy stuff when he was at oracle, death threats, !@$* about him and his wife, people trying to throw things, etc. he justsat there and took it all
