3rd quarter the Rockets poured it on.

Bottomline, if it takes wake up calls in May for a team to get going, then well, good luck to you.

It's not about facing adversity early on, like say the Celtics last year. It's about consistency. In this series, they haven't been. They went to surprised after game 1, bucked down and took the next two, and then got mollywhopped game 4.

We'll see what team decides to show up game 5
So...the celtics were consistent last year?
laugh.gif
NO it'sthe same exact thing....the Lakers aren't gonna come out flat again. Period. And based on their track record by the time they would come out flatagain...the series would be over.

Were the Celtics getting blown out by 29? I really don't remember, honestly. Giving up 4th quarter leads on the regular like how the Lakers did against theJazz? Celtics playing full 7 game series' IMO isn't the same thing what the Lakers are doing now.

Bottomline, when Kobe is on, Lakers win. He's mediocre, they lose. That can't sit well going forward, considering the talent and depth the Lakers have.

Like I said, as we know, we'll see what Lakers team decides to show up tonight.

This game is gonna be fast paced.

Game 1 was y'all wake-up call. Too bad you hit the snooze button.

30% chance we take this one. I'm being realistic.

Kobe with 70+ points and we win by 10.
laugh.gif
BTW I'm curious, how was Bynum the missing piece to y'all championship last year?

What is goin on again in these threads?

Is it really too hard to see that game one was after a one week layoff, we sleptwalked, and got it handed to us?

We came out, and got 2 and 3 right back, the way we were supposed too, no worries.

Game 4, 15 hours before tip we find out no Yao. Yao was our ENTIRE gameplan. How to stop him, how to attack him, pick and roll, etc. We basically showed upagainst a completely different team. Game 1-3 slow drag it out half court sets with Yao, game 4 was fast break neck pace with Brooks. We came out like crapand got it handed to us.

Now all of a sudden people wonder how we'll respond again? How did we respond in games 2 and 3?
nerd.gif

And all this Aaron Brooks love...........um, what did he do in game 3 again? Isn't he the same guy all the Rox fans wanted gone after game 3? We couldcheck the tapes if we need to.

See, everyone in here isn't lookin big picture, they just goin off what they saw last.

Huge game obviously, both teams should play very well. I don't see a blowout either way, should be tight and come down to the 4th as usual withLakers/Rockets games.

All that said, let's get it Lakeshow.

it happens...two championship teams were talking about here getting blown out

Eh, I don't even know what to think about this team. They just haven't been playing with a sense of urgency this entire playoffs. They seem to just begoing through the motions for some reason, maybe they're just wanting to get to the Finals already, I don't know. But they need to realize that theyactually have to play hard before then to get there. I think they come out and handle business tonight, Kobe will probably come out firing with at least 15 ptsin the 1st quarter, hopefully the other guys will show that they want to win as well.

Lakeshow by 10.

Basically summed it up.

When looking at this I've tried to be as un-bias as possible. I understand that the Lakers will def. come out more aggressive and look to take it thehole. They'll try to pressure brooks and create turnovers to fuel their fastbreak. Kobe will look to set the tone early because after a bad game he'sgoing to be focused to do everything he can to have a good game and make sure his team wins. My question is will his team feed off him--likely. And as I'velooked at the Lakers outside of Pau, Kobe, and Odom( at times) their talent isn't all it's cracked up to be. Ariza, Fisher, Brown( he actually playpretty well at times), Farmar, Sasha, Walton, Powell, and Bynum are all at this point playing average to below average basketball. So their talent isn'toverwhelmingly better than what we have, I understand that we're missing our two best players but our team has a lot more talent than it is credited for.So it isn't absurd to think that a team like the Rockets could beat this Lakers team is it a long shot, it was one when we had Yao, nothing has changed.

Keys for the Rockets:

Continue to play defense, it's what's gotten you here

Kobe is going to get his, I doubt he'll have another 15pt game, but continue to make him work.

LIMIT your turnovers, we did a great job in game 4 and we can't afford to have too many turnovers

Keep that up-tempo style, we have to score easy points, without Yao we REALLY don't have enough scoring to match this team.

Ron and Scola need to score, I expected them to pick up the scoring load in game 4 but it was A.B. and Shane that picked up the slack.

When you're open shoot the damn ball, that means you Shane, shoot it every time.

I'm looking for our bench (Von, Landry, and Lowry) to come in and give us a boost.

Last and foremost, play your heart out. I understand that game 4 was really an emotional game and it's hard to replicate that kind of game. They justdon't carry over. But this is something special, they don't have a talent of a champion ( they did) but they sure as hell do have the heart of one wordto Rudy T.

With all that said the Lakers will beat the Rockets tonight in a hard fought game. Kobe will just prove to be too much and he'll refuse to let his teamlose. Obviously I'm rooting for the opposite to happen

LET'S GO ROCKETS!

Lakers got this, can't wait till I get off of work. Thank God I missed the Mother's Day Massacre.

Shut up. You just want Fish to get a quick ejection and suspension because that'd be an addition by subtraction.. Smart bastard!

fact of the matter is, lakers are not dominant.

the rockets have to find a way for their stars to get healthy b/c they now have the role players to win the whole thing. if not trade those stars for those whocan stay healthy and they WILL win a ring.
